This stock market is like no other in the state of Argonath, or any of the other previous attempted establishments because it is powered by an advanced algorithm and series of fail-safes engineered in PHP by professional developers. The system is self sufficient using data collected by purchases, volume of shares, and real-time statistics. All purchases are done in real-time and all stock prices are updated by the automated system every 15 minuets.

If your unfamiliar with stock markets IRL, they work on the concept of "trading" stocks with individuals, rather company <> user trade. Of course the start will be users purchasing up corporate stocks then either holding for a while or selling to other individuals for an asking price.
Lets say I own 100 stocks in x company, the current stock price is $12 ARD and I paid $11 ARD, I want to make a bit extra so I contact a broker and inform them I want to sell 50 shares of X company and my asking price is $13 ARD per share. The broker then inserts this data into the system.
Lets continue to say a buyer is interested in x company, and wants to buy. He then contacts a broker and says I want to buy 50 shares of x company.  He can either ask the broker to get current "asking rates" so you can get a quick deal, or he can choose to enter his own bid rate. Lets say he chooses to see the asking rates, the broker will inform him a seller is offering 50 shares in x company for $13 ARD per share. He decides to accept the offer, and the broker inserts the bid price into the system and waits (up to 15 minuets).
Every 15 minuets, the system checks all the bids/asking prices against each other. In the event that their is a match, the first (in queue) will be awarded the deal and is accepted by the system. The new price is determined by an algorithmic math depending on if the price is higher than it is current, and by how much will cause the stock to rise in a linear form, and vise-versa, if the stock is less than current price, and again depending by how
much a formula is ran against it to determine the new stock price.

Going public can be an important choice for a company, this will allow the general public to purchase and own a share of your company which helps you make money for your company. Getting started is easy; simply get the asset value of your company, and how much money in your bank is dedicated to your company.  All legal companies are allowed, as is defined by the Argonath Constitution. You only pay a start up fee, plus the volume of shares to sell out. After this no other fees other than commission fees are deducted or required.

(http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i400/rami19941/Argonath%20RPG/ASM/titles/point.png) Start up fee: $150,000 ARD
(http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i400/rami19941/Argonath%20RPG/ASM/titles/point.png) Share fee: $100 per 10 shares(min 500)

After going public and paying required fees, users will be able to buy your shares. This money is directed to you, after all your shares have been purchased, then they are traded among the market. You should keep an eye on these stock prices however, just so you know how things are going.

Deciding to invest in the Argonath Stock market is a brilliant choice a person can make, it can earn you money and help establish wonderful companies that benefit the state of Argonath. While being an investor and shareholder can cost money to get started here are some fees to keep in mind while working with the Argonath Stock Market and it brokerage department.

(http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i400/rami19941/Argonath%20RPG/ASM/titles/point.png) Minimum Purchase: 50 shares per transaction
(http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i400/rami19941/Argonath%20RPG/ASM/titles/point.png) Brokerage Fee: 15% of each transaction
(http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i400/rami19941/Argonath%20RPG/ASM/titles/inner_point.png) Seller: Total Price - 15%
(http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/i400/rami19941/Argonath%20RPG/ASM/titles/inner_point.png) Buyer: Total Price + 15%

All transactions are done in-game via Argonath Stock Market employed and contracted handlers, each transaction is screened and is entered into the Argonath Stock Market system via the handler. The companies, broker and shareholder can also see these transaction records that are connected with their trade with screenshot provided evidence as soon as they are entered.

Corporate bonds are similar to loans, they allow a client to purchase bonds from a company, the company will the make regular payments to these clients to repay the bond.

There are no hidden fees with the use of bonds on the Argonath Stock Market System.

You can sell either, you are not limited or required to select either.

The company will pay back a .60% additional interest to the client.

Now I would really like to see the math behind this algorithm. If this is unofficial where do you take the data from to calculate the changes of business stock values. For now it seems more like a top shop advertisement to me.

Whilst I do agree with Jubin regarding there being possible anomalies in the calculation of stock value,  I am honestly glad to see that something has been started on this front. Any system will not be perfect at first and may take a very long time to be fully developed. It does look very professional though.

The Stocks prices are determined every 15 minuets by the system, no person can manually set a stock price.

Starting Stocks -> These are stocks that just got added, they are determined by the business assets (property price+bank) and the number of shares they business owner decides to enter (volume of shares).

Active Stocks -> These stocks are determined once they have been active for at least 1 hour, they are determined by supply/demand and the changes in volume and lightly affected by the changes in business assets.

I hope this clarifies things up a bit for you, and anyone else in question or interested in know how the system works.
We don't have a plain English version of the algorithms behind this, as its all programmed and we're not releasing the source code behind the project, essentially the most crucial part of it.

And thank you to everyone, I can't wait to get this done and started.
Remember first week you will get a chance to attempt to fraud, fool, scam, spoof the system.

Supply and demand of what? Also, who will change the volume of stocks. Who determines what business will be even on the stock market. How would the taking down business from the stock market look like? What about leverage? Are the businesses actually just fictional or when I hold more than 51% can I actually make the decisions about the way of the business is run in-game?

Supply and demands of the stocks.

A Company pay for an initial amount of shares they wish to go public with. We have not determined yet if they can buy more shares into the stock market. As for the changing of the shares, the system also does this automatically with each purchase / sale.

A company decides to go public, they must choose to enter their company to the stock market.

A company who wants to go private again, will have to buy back the stocks first(repay at current price)

and as Aldo said, its up to that owner of the company if they want to RP that half of the Stock Market.

Keep in mind this is a RP server, we can't recreate the stock markets 100%, but I feel for the fact its a game and RP server we have done a pretty fair job at getting something close. Also keep in mind this isn't like every other attempt stock market, nobody has to do anything manual with controlling the flow of stocks and the fluctuations. Everything relating to stocks, prices, amounts, etc. is done by the system on its own based on the buying, selling of the stocks. The only user ran actions are initiating the buying and selling of stocks, and the other UI parts like claims, and tracking of money etc.

I feel, and hope at some point it can eventually expand to other servers :)

Notice!

During testing and simulation runs today, the first day we had the full stock fluctuations running, we have encountered some problems. This could delay the release a short period of time.

Alright,

Stressed out and after many glasses of rum and coke, and many attempts to correct a certain issue we have decided to take another approach. During today's first simulated run of the system, we encountered many errors, it appears we are under thinking this system. We are thinking the following system, we are actually going to make this again more realistic to the real stock market.

The new concept is a matter of trading, someone owns stock that they want to sell, they then simply contact the broker with a asking price for the stock, a buyer interest in buying a stock will then place a bid on that stock. If they match, the said stock is then traded between the two. In such, this fluctuates the price of stock.

Any feedback or suggestions are gladly accepted in either my or Mikro's PM's

The sad news now, is much has to be removed, then re-coded. This will delay us about a week in our estimated released date.

Regards
Teddy

New Previews

Calendar Feature - Allows to schedule and arrange meetings with brokers, and handlers! The Error on the side is not going to be their, we haven't finished the full script for that yet.

User Dashboard - The main front for all users :)

After about 16 hours of straight work, recalculations and trial runs, the new algorithms and method has been instated. We have had about 6 hours of successful simulations with accurate data. So its with much happiness to announce that we are back on track, and should only be delayed a few days. New release date is 3/15/2012 :)

How release will work:

Handlers Release: Today, our handlers staff will be allowed to register and start using the handler interface.

Brokers Release: 3/12/2012, our brokers staff will be allowed to register and start using the broker interface.

Public Preview Release: 3/13/2012, the URL will be released yet registration will remain disabled for all users. You can tour the interface.

Public Simulation: 3/14/2012, the site will be put active and simulating results on the cron job. We have already had successful test and trail runs, so everything is working perfectly on our new algorithms. You can just see with simulated results how the prices fluctuate, and see the system in full action!

Public Release: 3/15/2012, registration will be enabled for users and companies. Businesses can not be created yet, only simulation businesses will exist for the public challenge!

Public Challenge 'Fool the System': starts on 3/16/2012, Will last for one week, and involves users attempting to fool the system, spoof the system, abuse the system and anything else (legal ofc no hacking)

The "new" system method:

The new price is determined by an algorithmic math depending on if the price is higher than it is current, and by how much will cause the stock to rise in a linear form, and vise-versa, if the stock is less than current price, and again depending by how much a formula is ran against it to determine the new stock price.

Once the deal is accepted it is placed in to the handlers dashboard, in this time a handler has to accept the job. We choose not to assign it to a handler, as this can create problems if the handler goes in-active for a period of time. Once a handler accepts it, he can only collect, and transfer money to the names directed on his dashboard. So make sure your in-game name is always exact. Even a clan tag off or letter off, he is not permitted to transfer the funds.

The brokerage and handler fees are split between the buyer and seller as such:

Buyer Pays: ((sharePrice * shareAmount) * .15) + (sharePrice * shareAmount) or just simply, the total price + 15%.
Seller Gets: ((sharePrice * shareAmount) * .15) - (sharePrice * shareAmount) or just simply, the total price - 15%.

10% is given to each broker, and 10% to the handler.

This is automatically calculated and is also in the directions of the handlers dashboard.

As this won't be a realistic stock market anyway I don't see, why some people should get just free money for doing something that script itself could do.

Your questions translate to the following...
How do you imply an unofficial program transferring money in-game? In short, this is possible but I highly doubt I'd be granted access to the necessary parts of users files or database to be able to preform such an action.

How do you imply the system going in-game and RPing a meeting with someone to arrange a bid for a share or a sale? You don't.

Because this is a RP community and we don't rely on scripts to do things for us
Neither are we a community that likes to give money to people for doing nothing.

Ah, ok. Got it.

PS: Still waiting an answer for selling short question.

What about selling short?

The system will not let you sell shares you don't own. So, in theory no. Can you buy the shares, and then sell them before the seller of the ones you just purchased. Yes.

Hope this clears it up.

The system that checks the main system had a bug, so we are re-running our checks before the main system is released. It should be only a few more hours. :)

System Released!

Due to the change in the system, as brokers now 100% control entry of Sales and Purchases from users the "Challenge" event will not be able to take place, as we only have one broker at the moment. The system is now in full functionality, and is 100% released and ready for use! Please under either user or company dashboard report any problems you encounter the the support tab. Thanks!

Feedback and Suggestions are greatly appreciated! All suggestions will be taken in to consideration.

You'll need to arrange a meeting with a broker, and speak with them about how many you wish to purchase and the bid price.

I'll look into that, but I'm in-game now doing brokerage.

The problem was fixed, you included text, the proper time is 18:00:00 for 19:00 Danish(GMT+1). You can't include text or the system is unable to process it into the calendar. Be sure to use CET when arranging times.

I have an idea which can solve 90% of the questions, Do it like BSF, i.e. Only BSF supported or RolePlay companies can go private, Like if someone has 51% shares of a company he becomes the owner ofc. If the company lives or dies is up to him.  Because selling shares of In game businesses like Ammunations and 24X7s would be way too complicated and unreal.

Also all of essential business laws can be applied that way.

If anyone has studied business in school or college they'd know what I mean. However, I'm done with it, it was a real headache, I hope 6th of March, 2012 was the last time I had to look into a business studies book. -.-

This idea will be discussed with the developers. However, it already is that only companies with a topic can go public, not just random companies. It is upto the owners of these RP companies to go public, and they can choose to RP or not RP shareholder meetings.

ASM will not offer "ownership" RP of the company, as its not a company. However, we will have shareholder meetings in-game once a month. For example, each company has the option to which they want / don't want to RP.

Servers to be supported:
SA:MP - Done
MTA:SA - In Progress
LU - In Progress
IV:MP - In Progress - May introduce government bonds.
MTA:VC - In Progress
VC:MP - In Progress

The system will support multiple servers based on a server ID, these server IDs will be for users(a user be attached to more than one server). Broker and Handler Accounts are per server as well as company accounts.

This integration will take about 2-4 weeks to reach a full effect.

Other Features coming soon:

File Manager - Handlers can upload/manage files directly on the site.
Messaging System - Allows users to send and receive messages to other users/staff on the site.

On the 'discussion' table:

Corporate Bonds, User 'Credit' Rating, Business 'Rating' System (high rating = high stock price, lower rating = lower stock price).

These ideas are only in discussion and are not guaranteed.

Since many people are having trouble with creating a business. A company account is not a 'business'  just an account that allows you to own and make a business on the stock Market. I've made this simple 3 step guide to show you how to create a business. Click the image to see full screen.

Hover over your the drop down box on the top right and select 'Company Dasboard'.
Next you'll see a money stack with a + button next to it, called 'Add Business'
Next time fill out the form provided, click calculate to get the price. Please note, the $150,000 start up fee can be waved, see bellow for more info.

Financial Waver
Don't have enough to pay the $150,000 ARD start up fee? Send me a PM explaining your company and your financials situation then I will be able to work out a deal with you.

'Business'
Any company can open a share, however be aware you can not pull out of the system until you again own all your stock. Meaning you must buy your comapny stocks back.

As a company you can choose to RP "Share control" which means majority shareholders can make choices on behalf of your company, or to RP 'Shareholder Meetings' which is when you and your shareholders have a meeting to discuss your business progress.

Those who are interested in buying stock will soon be able to send a message to brokers via the system, rather than meet in-game. However, we do since this is a RP server request you do at somepoint try and RP with our brokers :)

The Broker rating system will be instated shortly.

Hope this helps!

In the event of a script error or failure because we all know it happens or you simply lose interest in this fantastic idea are you prepared to refund all the companies that have signed up and invested 150,000 ARD. With the system being new and all and my investment of 150,000 ARD required I'm alittle hesitant to sign up unless I know for certain your dedicated to making this work and keeping it around for a long time to come.

Yes, I don't really spend money in-game so all the money for company starting fees will be refunded in the event the ASM shuts down. I do indeed plan to see this project last for a very very long time as we have been putting a lot of time and work and are very impressed with the progress.

Some more technical stuff I guess just breifly touching upon some questions

Password Security - We use a custom salt plus triple encryption.
IP storage - Logged for security, not released as per Privacy Policy.
Email stored why? - For resetting account password.
Country kept? - We're working on a portfolio system and gonna have country flags :)
What is stored when I log in? - We first store in the accounts database your latest Login time/date and latest IP, and also inserted into the administrative logs.
How are things organized (by ID or username) - All accounts are assigned a unique ID upon registration, this is used to match all other things you do on the site to your account, this also applies to businesses once they are made.
How long did this take to make in total hours? Uh not really sure tbh and to be even more honest we're not even at the full planned project as of so far its been a bit over a month and a half.
What database management software or webUI do you use? Command Prompt <3
Did you make the theme? No, I can't design for crap. Purchased off Themeforest.
Is their really 22 tables? 22 isn't really that many :P yes
How did u learn webDev? Self-Taught.
How do you(Teddy) make money off this? Never was about making money :) Just looking to come up with a creative idea.
Can I have the source? Nope. Chuck Testa

If you have any other questions you can A) Keep asking me in Teamspeak like most of these did come from, B) MSN (ask for it in PM) C) either Argo Forum PM or ASM PM

Hope it clears things up :)

It is exactly like Dillon_Collin explained, nothing more. Only thing what lies between is the leeches you give 15% percent of your transaction money for lets say role playing with you.

The company(IRL) I use charges a 30% brokerage fee; and I don't even talk to them in person, its done by their website so its not really "leeches". Its called a brokerage fee, which is a commission to the broker. As I've stated I don't make money, and there has to be some way to pay the brokers and handlers. I think 15% is pretty reasonable.

I understand you and in real life it does work. Argonath although is not real life and here 15% is a lot. If some rich guys makes 1mil deal 300k goes to brokerage fees. Now in the context of Argonaths current money system 300k is a lot.

PS: As the system has been up for a while now how can't I see any changes in stock prices at all? Is that a problem or should it really be like that?
Title: Re: The Argonath Stock Market [Live!]

It is supposed to be that. Since first the shares needs to be bought from the companies, before people can bid and sell. Only then the prices can start fluctuate based on bid and ask.

Argonath Stock Market is back online!

We've added some new features in the downtime!
   Low Bandwidth Mode
This feature, a new setting in your account is used for users who want to cut down on loading time due to browser, computer or
internet connection problems/ other issues and load times are simply too long. This feature will aggressively moderate which plugins
are loaded, what features are loading while still not limiting the full capability of the site.

   Loading Time comparisons:
Normal Avg:    0.345 seconds
Low Band. Avg:    0.153 seconds

 New Error System!
We will slowly be switching over to this new sweet UI error notifier. Rather getting an error like 'register.php?e=2',
the site will redirect you to just 'register.php' yet a nice box will appear in the lower right hand corner with a description of
the error, simply click the 'x' to close this error.
This is not fully added, and some pages may still contain the older error handling system.

It could be a misunderstanding with the host that they are trying to work out. When the site is back up, as is their database, (if hosted elsewhere), then your account will be back too.

The hosting has been resumed, the account in which the web site was hosted on was suspended by the provider, thus giving the message "Account Suspended". This issue has been resolved and all of the sites have been resumed. The database is hosted by the same provider and remains unaffected.

The idea is being discussed about a Argonath Stock Market API, that would make it possible for Argonath servers to poll ASM servers rather having the system poll Argonath servers. This idea is still in the infant stages and will be presented in the coming weeks to server leaders/owners to see its possibilities. The only concern of the developers of ASM is the fact of RP needs to still some how be maintained.

The idea of corporate bonds have been handed into a voting system. Read the description of the corporate bonds, and you can vote yes (up) or no (down) to support the idea. If in the next two weeks more votes are yes, then the bonds will be instated. In a normal situation, you would need to be a shareholder of Argonath Stock Market (in any city) to participate in a vote. However, for this we have opened the voting to the public.

Corporate Bonds
A corporate bond is a system that will allow a company to sell a limited number of bonds to citizens for a price. These bonds will be re-payed by the company over a period of time (two months) in weekly payments to the bond holders. This is an investment opportunity for a citizen to invest into a company allow it to grow and make money. A company has to make the payments back after 3 weeks after the bonds are sold. There is a 0.50% interest addition onto the company, and there is no interest or hidden fees collected by the Argonath Stock Market.

Vote
(Up for Yes, Down for No)

Can you be more specific about the profit for an investor?

With bonds interest is added on to your original purchase amount,
with Stocks if you buy low & sell high, the difference is your profit.

We've become aware of some minor bugs, over the next few days we will be slowly
working on these bugs, and working to increase site efficiency.

We will also be adding Corporate bonds to the available services. In addition, we are now making businesses free-to-apply! We are waving the 'opening' fee of 150,000$ and returning the security opening fee to all business that are applicable. Please Contact [WS]Teddy_Collin in-game for more information.

Site has been fully restored, we had some troubles with the corporate bonds getting integrated. We've added some extra features, and a few Easter Eggs within the system. Credits, Real-time stats, corporate bonds, updated system interface, updated staff list, updated calendar, updated inbox system, and improved management/administration are of the changes to the system.

Against everything we have envisioned, we have chosen to add the ability for a user to be able to place a bid on a stock from the site itself, without the direct need of a broker. While a user interested in selling must still contact a broker; we have debated this for a while and determined to best enable the site to expand, and allow the ability for those who are not in the same timezone as our brokers to be able to still use the site.

This isn't the only change we managed to sneak in over the weekend, we have made changes to the tracking system; a user can now see all related transactions on one page, rather each transaction per ID. Here is a list of features updated/bug fixes:

Regarding Security Concern:

After an official statement from the hosting company, we have now learned that the growing concern of a possible security breach on the server in which Argonath Stock Market is hosted has been put the rest. We do now know that the attack was unsuccessful and no levels of security have been breached. We can assure that none of your login details, personal information has been compromised.

It is with this in mind, we have taken our own security precautions into mind and we will unsuspend the Argonath Stock Market shortly after we finish a security patch on our staff upload system, as well as investigate some other possible security vulnerabilities and assure these are sealed and handled to ensure maximum security is held on the Argonath Stock Market system.

We are expected to be finished our assessments within the next 12 hours. Any questions or concerns can be directed to my PM's (Teddy). About an hour after the site is resumed, the stock algorithm will be restarted as well. This was frozen to protect damage to the stocks prices.

Introducing the latest feature of Argonath Stock Market... Mobile. :) We have gone mobile, with a mobile-browser enabled version and in-development of an Argonath Stock Market for Android phones!

You can access it here (http://m.argonathstockmarket.info): http://m.argonathstockmarket.info (http://m.argonathstockmarket.info)

Note: For security reasons, you must enabled mobile access in your account settings, and unlike the full-web browser version, you must be logged into to use the mobile features!

As of right now, there is no "auto" redirect to mobile feature, this will be implemented as soon as the script to do it stops screwing with me :P

Enjoy!

The past 12 hours a special script has been constructed to review each account, and tables, row by row to ensure the database cross-over is going to be no issue; it is currently running right now (and lagging my browser to hell), after it finishes reviewing it'll prepare the system for the database cross-over and start changing the tables and columns to the new format. To prevent data loss, or accidents the system will be 100% non-accessible during this time. In addition a test of our new email encryption system will be conducted on our beta-users accounts only. If it is deemed a success, this script will be executed on all the accounts, as well as all new accounts.

An email confirmation, and legal notice will be sent out, as this upgrade is to comply with new personal-information protection requirements. It is important that with in the next 12 hours if possible you ensure we have the latest and most current email on our system. In 16 hours, the script will be expected to be executed on the full accounts table. These emails will be expected at various times, the script will only update 1 email every 10 seconds to prevent an overload, thus your email can be expected at any given time tomorrow, if you do not get an email please alert us immediately.

In this update, the system will also alert you when you Login to Argonath Stock Market if your account has had a failed-login attempt since your last Login, this option can eventually be disabled in the account settings and will alternatively be able to alert you via email in the coming weeks. As this is a 2.0 feature initially, we feel its an important security procedure to implement immediately.

Thank you again for taking your interest in the Argonath Stock Market and we hope to report good news tomorrow and that we can officially being Argonath Stock Market 2.0 development.

After countless efforts to restore the database after the script encountered and error and started glitching the database; we have reassembled the database and restored the new data manually. The system is now back only and fully operational.

Note: Due to the new database format, we may have missed some sections of code to update; if you encounter any MySQL errors please report them immediately to the support section.

We're are glad to announce the tentative release date for Argonath Stock Market Version 2.0 for the date of July 10th, 2012. For much of the next week the system will be offline while our developers knock out the new front end systems. In addition following our July 10th release the SA:MP server businesses and all transactions will be frozen and reset, this is for the infamous RS.5 release, regardless if the server is released on its new expected release or not, our system will keep the sever on hold.

Thanks for all the support we have gotten, and we'll see you back online shortly with a new Argonath Stock Market!

Without Further delay, we're glad to annouce the official release of the Argonath Stock Market version 2.0.1

We have been working over the past month to engineer a newer, fresher and more interactive experience on the Argonath Stock Market; Bringing you closer and more involved with you and your stock trades. We have incorporated features to customise your viewing experiences, features to allow you better control over how the site operates for you, features to give you a better, cleaner view into the operation of the market.

After countless hours of work, we've done just that. Redesigned, and Re-engineered the next stock market. Here is a preview of some of the changes you can see!

Visual and Mechanics Customizations
(http://asm.argonathrpg.com/beta/asm_1.png)
With this settings thread you can control how the mechanic elements of the market work for you; such as the length of time to display a notice message, when to send you an email and when not to and even other things such as visual element changes like the color scheme of the whole site.

Bigger, more detailed Contacts System
(http://asm.argonathrpg.com/beta/asm_2.png)
We have upgraded the contacts system to be larger and include more. We've added our beta tesers, our admins and our moderators who will moderate our new compact-forum sysem.

"Quick Glance" Boxes
(http://asm.argonathrpg.com/beta/asm_3.png)
These interesting fellas give you the latest information on the servers you play, these can be enabled and disabled in real-time via the homepage!

Compact Forum System
(http://asm.argonathrpg.com/beta/asm_4.png)
We've engineered our own mini-forums directly into the site (ASM 2.0.2) and fully operational moderation system and board & topic creation system. Virtually fast and easy to discuss with other members!

The Smarter Portfolio
(http://asm.argonathrpg.com/beta/asm_5.png)
We've taken the time to rethink the porfolio system, and have added fully interactive charts directly to each users portfolio. This new portfolio system gives each user a direct and indepth understanding of themselves, and other users in the Market.

So, tired of seeing glipses and hearing about these amazing features? Our site is fully live once again http://asm.argonathrpg.com (http://asm.argonathrpg.com)

It'd be nice to see this used more within the community.

And I'd like to know how much of this code has been taken from my company?

Don't you think it'd be better suited to have this in the Business section?

You'd get more customers there.
It's much more relevant.
It may be easier to have it as a sticky thread.

Unless this thread is totally for informative reasons and is generally clear of buy/sell then it may not be suitable here.

Please let me know =).

Scratch all of that, it's a business.
Good luck.

Its back to the drawing boards, not just the rephrase board. We're taking all of the hard produced work of ASM so far and trashing it. Using the latest in development and web design, we will recreate ASM from scratch. We aren't talking about just recreating it to its glory as of now, we are going for bigger, better, faster, and even more glory than ever before or thought possible.

The new system will use a modular oriented programming style, compared to our current procedural style now which leads to problems when adding new features, making bug fixes, and in general working as  team. We'll be using our own custom remixed MVC(model-view controller) style of programming that'll allow us to bring and provide simply the best and fastest possible service.

Our giant step forward will be taking place on side of our current general work to the current system. So everything in our current site will resume as planned and operational.

What exactly will be new?
New look & feel (theme)
New site. That is all we can say so far.

How long will this take?
Looking at roughly 5-6 weeks.

Will it require testing?
Yes. Our beta testers now will be the same testers of that new system plus any Argonath Admin+ is eligible for beta testing.

Without further delay, its back to the actual drawing board to sort my mind. Also, please welcome Adam. as our new trial developer!

Signed,
ASM Development Team

In the near future, hopefully tomorrow we will find us a central home here on the forums and move our 'important updates' to http://asm.argonathrpg.com/blog/ this will establish a location for us to keep everyone updated. We are hoping to get a single topic here in the forums in a general location as we have become more broadly accepted in servers and would like to not have multiple topics to post the more serious updates and check for generalized information. Do note, we are still waiting for the platform of blog software to be ready. Some cool new is that we will be the only site on the internet running the blogging software. So it may be a bit buggy at first as we'll have a private alpha release copy.

Our system is being taken offline currently while we finish up the last of Argonath Stock Market 3.0, we need the main site offline in order to safely manage the database and make effective updates and massive restructuring for the new version.

The new Argonath Stock Market system has been entirely rethought, remade and after tons of work, research, and redoing we have got the base of the idea what we wanted for the new system planned out. Currently we're building the system on top of the layout, and should be done in about 2 weeks. Any person who has gone public on Argonath Stock Market will continue to hold their stocks on the Market, and they will transfer over shortly.

We are also going to be posting shortly a regulations booklet; This will contain all new rules and regulations of trade on the Market.

Some other things being introduced officially are:

Hedge Funds - Group Investments
SEC - Regulations, Punishments
FBI Integration - Oversight, Legal Action, Fraud Prevention

Official Group Investments:

Groups that have official status (clans) can request public market, Mafias wishing to go public will need a business to front.
Groups will be SEC regulated, and will have a maximum investment transfer of $1,000,000 ARD per week.

Unofficial Group Investments:

Groups (clans) without official status can request going on the public market. Mafias wishing to go public will need a business to front.
Groups will be Market regulated, and will have a maximum investment transfer of $500,000 per 2 weeks.

Low Cost Opening:

We will no longer be charging a going public fee, now you only pay the price of the flat rate going stock ($15) per stock with a minimum of 100,000 shares. This fee is subject to change without warning.

Robust System:

The entire system is redesigned, as in the operations from the simple features. We have placed much effort into modernizing the system and building the platform to not only meet modern standards but to exceed the standards. The system is designed to work under pressure, and under failure. If one part of the system encounters an error, the rest of the system will continue to operate without harm. and of course, not an inch of security was risked, we consulted with other professionals to ensure the maximum security was achieved.

ASM Development Team
