Whilst I do agree with Jubin regarding there being possible anomalies in the calculation of stock value,  I am honestly glad to see that something has been started on this front. Any system will not be perfect at first and may take a very long time to be fully developed. It does look very professional though.

Now I would really like to see the math behind this algorithm. If this is unofficial where do you take the data from to calculate the changes of business stock values. For now it seems more like a top shop advertisement to me.

The Stocks prices are determined every 15 minuets by the system, no person can manually set a stock price.

Starting Stocks -> These are stocks that just got added, they are determined by the business assets (property price+bank) and the number of shares they business owner decides to enter (volume of shares).

Active Stocks -> These stocks are determined once they have been active for at least 1 hour, they are determined by supply/demand and the changes in volume and lightly affected by the changes in business assets.

I hope this clarifies things up a bit for you, and anyone else in question or interested in know how the system works.
We don't have a plain English version of the algorithms behind this, as its all programmed and we're not releasing the source code behind the project, essentially the most crucial part of it.

And thank you to everyone, I can't wait to get this done and started.
Remember first week you will get a chance to attempt to fraud, fool, scam, spoof the system.

Supply and demand of what? Also, who will change the volume of stocks. Who determines what business will be even on the stock market. How would the taking down business from the stock market look like? What about leverage? Are the businesses actually just fictional or when I hold more than 51% can I actually make the decisions about the way of the business is run in-game?

And we do not try to be real life, as why would you ever play real life if you have one ? We play the GTA universe, and our players should try to live in the GTA world, not the real one.

Supply and demands of the stocks.

A Company pay for an initial amount of shares they wish to go public with. We have not determined yet if they can buy more shares into the stock market. As for the changing of the shares, the system also does this automatically with each purchase / sale.

A company decides to go public, they must choose to enter their company to the stock market.

A company who wants to go private again, will have to buy back the stocks first(repay at current price)

and as Aldo said, its up to that owner of the company if they want to RP that half of the Stock Market.

Keep in mind this is a RP server, we can't recreate the stock markets 100%, but I feel for the fact its a game and RP server we have done a pretty fair job at getting something close. Also keep in mind this isn't like every other attempt stock market, nobody has to do anything manual with controlling the flow of stocks and the fluctuations. Everything relating to stocks, prices, amounts, etc. is done by the system on its own based on the buying, selling of the stocks. The only user ran actions are initiating the buying and selling of stocks, and the other UI parts like claims, and tracking of money etc.

Is this just for SA:MP, or will it eventually be for all servers?

I feel, and hope at some point it can eventually expand to other servers :)

Notice!

During testing and simulation runs today, the first day we had the full stock fluctuations running, we have encountered some problems. This could delay the release a short period of time.

Now this sentence right here is the one that I am most skeptical. But oh well I guess I have to wait and see.

Alright,

Stressed out and after many glasses of rum and coke, and many attempts to correct a certain issue we have decided to take another approach. During today's first simulated run of the system, we encountered many errors, it appears we are under thinking this system. We are thinking the following system, we are actually going to make this again more realistic to the real stock market.

The new concept is a matter of trading, someone owns stock that they want to sell, they then simply contact the broker with a asking price for the stock, a buyer interest in buying a stock will then place a bid on that stock. If they match, the said stock is then traded between the two. In such, this fluctuates the price of stock.

Any feedback or suggestions are gladly accepted in either my or Mikro's PM's

The sad news now, is much has to be removed, then re-coded. This will delay us about a week in our estimated released date.

Regards
Teddy
