If I'm correct (if you're Muslim), asking for interest is haram, but paying interest not.

Correct me if I am wrong.

giving interest and paying interest is haram.
Seems like a lot of Muslims are sinners then, since interest is paid very often, with products, rents etc.

You get a debt card which is linked to a bank account, you then input the information to pay for something online and the money is taken from your account that way.

You can also get visa prepaid cards that are similar to a bank account, put you just pay to put money on the card which you can use online.

If you use a prepaid card, there will not be a negative balance which means you are not paying interest.

There are several options to get a Creditcard without paying interests. For example, if you transfer the money into the creditcard account on the same month, I do not pay interests with MasterCard. Aswell MasterCard somehow got it's "prepaid" creditcard-form aswell, you need to put money on the account first before you are able to use it.
Another option is using PayPal linked to your bankaccount, then you pay the thing you want to have and afterwards it gets withdrawn from your bankaccount.

Apart from that, having a creditcard is risky, you might use to much money on it and then you cannot pay it back. So then it starts to ask interests over it, which is not allowed by your religion.

Ok here is a question. Suppose I take a loan from a bank, then convert to Islam, can I refuse to pay interest based on it being agains my religion ? :devroll:

No, banks don't care about religion. xD
If you'd refuse to pay interest it would be stealing, which is also haram.

I get like 3% a year on my bank (gotta get my new card I remember now), anyway....

Most of the time you're getting money if you got money on it.. If you're in the red (-), pay it back as quick as possible. They're indeed getting more money from it then indeed, you can't do shit about it . Also keep in mind that a Mastercard is more expensive then a regular Maestro (no idea what they have in there), a normal price (mine) is about 40 euro's a year to use my card totally (yeah, got a Mastercard --').

I'm with Credit Agricole and the ING (which I lost the card from, probably now somewhere in the North Sea.

All in 1 : Try get a prepaid one.. Mastercard (mine isn't in here, I've can go red until 50, which never happened yet) has to many risks in here.. There's not big difference expect the fact you can not pay in America or either Australia. Shame.

If you pay off your monthly balance on a credit card on your due date, you won't incur any interest.

This is a waste of the scripters' time as this isn't even a role play server.

Hmm, you've misunderstood the topic. We're talking about real life finances, not a new method ingame.

I'll tell it anyway. If you're skeptical about getting a credit card.

Get a debit card, you can create virtual credit cards using your debit card to make payments where needed. :)

As others suggested, get a debit card.

Personally for me, I carry around my AmEx charge card and pay it off at the end of the month.
