- I have not decreased my speed, speedtest.net shows same speed on german servers, though diffrent ping
- I have not installed anything new, moreover problem is from any PC connecting through my router
- I have not moved, still living in same area
- I'm not downloading anything
I'll be more than happy to provide any other information on request[/i][/b][/list]

I don't know, maybe it's a problem of your provider... I had the same problem some months ago, and I did nothing wrong...
You might have some program opened that makes a conflict with the internet connection. Don't know. You should try calling your provider.
-
Do u got anything like TV and other computer on That might be the problem use only one Device in your house and problem solve :D

Contact your provider.

It can depents on alot of diffrent things,
Like someone is also on your internet and uses it or your provider just removed a 'pole' that sends around internet, due to that it could be possible more people would have to use the same internet what means your ping is higher.
I just think your provider changed something or you got more people on your network
To check it
go to cmd
IP Config
Your explorer : Type your IP ( 192.0.0.1 or 10.0.0.1 or whatever you have)
login
Check at My connected networks
Kick everyone except you, check your ping.
If it did not change
Check your aplications on your computer
Close all
or, contact your provider and ask them!
also you can download some programs that allow your computer to go into Gaming mode, those programs will disable all unused aplications on your computer.
I hope I could help
Loveyou sergeant Omar my umbrella

Though Brian's post explained a lot. I'd add something from personal experience, maybe try changing provider. My old provider provided me with speeds of 3.2mbps and my ping used to be around 180-230 , my new provider provides me speed of 21mbps but the last I checked my ping was reaching 400.
Anyway I'd say 180-320 is a great ping since people have trouble shooting you. :devroll:

If anything, it's your provider. If your internet is connected with your house phone and you've made some changes with the house phone, it could be it. If not, it's still something with your provider. When I had my house telephone and internet with the same company, my ping was at 180+. Once removing my house phone, my ping dropped down to 120.
-
Do you use wireless connection?
-
It's all to do with your provider, I have a 1Mb line and Duel has a 1Mb line yet I get 160-200 ping on SA:MP and he gets 300+ ping.
-
Open internet explorer.
press options
and delete all your cookies.
also open windows promp and type in %temp% and delete all of them.
-
People using the same provider living in diffrent part of town have like 1/4 of my internet speed yet the get half my ping. So definitly it's not my provider.

Line speed isn't the only thing that causes a high ping, it's line disturbance, attenuation and line noise too.

And in fact, line speed has the least to do with high ping.
-
Line quality is what matters.

May sound strange at first, but for me when I'm playing on a server I try to get rid of as much 'background' software as possible. Other than generally speeding things up, I've noticed that certain ones (due to their internet usage) also can play a small part on ping.
I usually turn off MSN, Skype, general media "stuff", iTunes and even browsers if they have YouTube vid. or something playing.

Probally your neighbours happens to me sometimes ;)
-
Either the exchange your internet is going through is overloaded or out dated which may be causing your issues.
I have been having similar issues here, I have a 1mb download speed yet my ping is going to 500+, and then at times with the 1mb download speed I have 30-40 ping to local speedtest servers.

Yeah, actually... has happened to me too. Can get a little annoying with bluetooth/other wireless devices connecting to your system.

Process:
1. Goto http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html (http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html) Or http://download.cnet.com/Game-Booster/3000-18512_4-12119223.html (http://download.cnet.com/Game-Booster/3000-18512_4-12119223.html)
2. Download Game Booster 3.0
3. Install it with the settings you like
(http://i1196.photobucket.com/albums/aa412/Sachin_Nithish/g2.png)
4. Start The boost
(http://i1196.photobucket.com/albums/aa412/Sachin_Nithish/gr2.png)
5. Now your computer is in Gaming mode and all the useless background programs are closed
6. Now We need to defrag our Game
(http://i1196.photobucket.com/albums/aa412/Sachin_Nithish/gr3.png)
Now Choose The Gta San Andreas (If you dont find it then browse it)
I Tryed this method and it made a difference to me, So my ping is good
Or

Most of the time higher ping is caused by a bad/busy connection or a very busy system.
Somethings that can make this happen are:
- Downloading
- Wireless bad connection
- Maintenance on the city's network
- Maintenance on the servers network (if all players experience it)
- Infected system (virus, malware, etc.)
If your not downloading I would suggest scanning and see if you can get a better wireless connection (if you play wireless)
Also, if this doesn't work, to get a better ping is to changing ur ISP or moving close to the host.
Or while playing SAMP, in other terms close any other process/program that is using an internet connection.
Btw if u wanna speed up ur Connection, don't download file bigger, don't active Automatic update, Check Weather (if rain, storm it's will make connection weak).
This Game booster,i presume, disables your background programs in order to free up more RAM and increase FPS. Ping just represents a distance from one server to another.. And it doesnt really matter that much, you can have a ping less than 50 ms and youll still lag if your connection is slower,on the other hand, you can have a ping of 300 ms while still not lagging like the other player close to the server but with a slow connection
it's iknda popular that in some networks a rush hour is at evening, everyone is coming back from work / school and starts downloading files, playing and so on, it's network depending
get a new ISP or move to the country in which the server is there. It is dependent on the location of the server and the quality of internet connection.
Hope i helped you :)

Defragmenting a game will have no affect on a persons ping, nor will reducing graphics quality and resolution.

i wish i could, i can't even go to google as i said

When I was using landline broadband few years ago, I experienced a terribly slow connection similar to yours Joshua, and it was all down to a faulty phone socket/extension cable that led upstairs(I could hear interference through the phone). I changed that and everything was hunky dory... till they cut me off some weeks later!
-
I think it's because i didn't pay the month yet, and they reduced the connection so i pay, no idea.
-
I am sure they would have pulled you up about not paying when you called them or sent a letter out stating that you need to pay. They would not cap you that much it is a waste of their time and resources, they would be much better off cutting you off completely.
-
Use GameBooster, it disables all programs that waste resources and internet, apart from the internet itself and some programs you add exception to
-
Try to contact your internet service provider and tell them about your problem, they might help you. If you have a cable internet as i do, try to get fiber optic wire it will provide you better ping. If you have wireless internet, there is no solution else changing your provider. Also try to switch off all resources using internet. If you have WiFi, try to add/change password so no one else can use.
Regards,
Bun Bun!

This. It seems that your ISP is messing up something, causing insane ping. Call them, explain the situation and hope for the best. Might take a couple of calls before they say anything.

and he gets 300+ ping.
400+ ;d

That's what you get when you rely on a Moroccan ISP such as Maroc Telecom.
Ironically, that's the one I rely on too! I pay for 4.8mb/s and all I get now is 588kb/s.
-
It's your provider for sure, if you got everything off in the background running SA then it usually should not get higher then 150 (except Devin, but he lives in South Africa (noany racist here)). Don't forget the fact that Speedtest works with host close to you, you might be the unlocky guy where the cables which go in your house might have been damaged due any event. Call your provider, and tell them that your internet is way to slow (try logging in on your Modem to, http://192.168.1.1/, (http://192.168.1.1/,) use that URL, the password is normally admin.
-
I luckily get between 160-190 ping on European servers, and others around me with the same speed line get 200-300 ping.
It has a lot to do with your location and your local lines.
