I have recently seen Al Gores movie called "an inconvenient truth" I watched the movie and some of Gore's facts grabbed me and made me think towards the future and what is apparently to some people going to happen to the earth within the next 50 or so years. But after watching the movie i started asking some of my other teachers and noticing that nearly all of them had different speculations of Global waming. My science teacher said that global warming was not man caused and infact if you look at the temperature facts from the last few thousand years that this has happened quite a few times. Other of my teachers (like my Humanities teacher who showed me this film) Said that it was true and we should all be working together to try and change this for future generations. I also was looking around on the internet to see what other people thought on the subject when i cam acorss this > http://www.junkscience.com/Greenhouse/ . My question to you is, What is your opinion on global warming?

Note: I do not want anyone flamming or insulting others this is not a debate as such it is a simple opinion talk. You may voice ANY opinions on the subject and i wish for noone to bring them down.

Load of Shit..

Looked at the temps about 53 years Ago...

Same as Todays...

looked at the Sea levels...

Same as Todays...

Give it 5 years all will be fine... maybe 10

If We Make Peace of Resolution Impossible, War of Revolution Will be Inevitable

Well, Not exactly the same. The temp is rising, Just not as dramaticly as people say it is. Plus this happened many times in the past and if you look at the average temperatures in the last 8 years, It does not rise at all.. But yes good point Watti.

I just hope it doesn't get too bad while I am alive.

Though, kinda sad to think that if I'll ever have kids, they, their children or their childrens children and so on have to live on a fucked up planet.

Just a quick note: The Global Warming problem is not as far you imagine... Last month, Belo Horizonte (My city in Brazil) registered temperatures of 38°C, which is far from being normal, the normal here everyday ranges from 15-30°C.

Easy to say it's "load of shit" for those who didn't suffer from it yet...

Look back at the average temps from about 50-100 years ago, and you proably will notice that its not much different to the average now.

Global Warming - Causes of Water Rising.

Antartic and Artic "places" are getting warm because of the ozon thing that is protecting from the dangerous and very warm solar "lines" (i dont know how is in english so i say a lil randomly to u try to understand), but because if the polution, the ozon "shield" has heavily brocken in Artic and Artartic "places".
Then guess what: Gets too warm. Then its very bad: The ice melts, and, since theres MAAAANY ice, imagine water rising in 10~50 years...

Same to the temperature. The ozon "shield" is broken then gets too warm. Then your skin can even become black and have skin cancer.

I also saw the move "An Incovenient Truth" when i was in 4th grade but we coulndt see it all cos the DVD was broken <.<

The issue is not if there is evidence for Global warming, or even about what causes it.
The real problem is that we are taking rapid measures because we feel is it caused by us. And most of these measures are a trick by the government to get us to pay more taxes. If there is a congress on global warming, the planes used to transport the guests cause more pollution than all of us can in one year.

But most important of all, if there really is global warming, nature will respond to it. If we do not give nature time, but mess up the atmosphere by our ideas that we are better as Nature, we can do more damage trying to bring down the warming as the warming could do by itself.

If you want to help out the planet, do not listen to stories but check out the results of environmental projects in the past. A lot of them did more damage than good.
We should be careful not to destroy nature, and even more careful in thinking we have the power to really influence it.

Do not roleplay a veteran on discord, be a veteran in game.

Grov I'm not trying to correct you, just for you to know for the future, it's called ozon layer :)

And the main reason for the holes on the ozon layer is the ChlorofluoroCarbon, which is now forbbiden to be used in certain countries. Polar Bears are drowning because they can't find solid ice to stay... Soon, Dave will die

But back on topic, also there is the Greenhouse effect, which is ATM a big problem. And it's a problem that, regardless from where you leave, you share it with everyone.

Well those effects will take sometime to reach some countries, meanwhile, South America and Africa are bound to suffer with temperature rise. And I tell you, it's closer than you imagine.

:ps: Couldn't have said it better, Ronnel.

Really, congresses and blabbering won't do it, what we need is action.

Actualy the hole in the Ozone layer has shrunk by 9,000,000 Sq Miles (14484096 sq km ) And is below normal size

The World needs to prepare for a 100 year battle with temperature. The amazon forest's among other many large ones are 10% their normal size, The United States of America used to be 90% Forest (Geographyicly) Now? 5%. In 200 years. The Great plains were not always Dry and hot as they are now.

Its all about money money money. The world has the recources to run EVERY CAR on the road now on battery power.  75% power generated by power plants goes un used
(USA Study)

Battery powerd cars are in existance. Running at almost 100 Miles Per Galleon. Enough to travel circumnavigate the earth on only 230 fully charged batterys.

Its not a question of "Do we have the resources" Its a question of "When will be be smart enough to see the world has never been hotter, or changing in over 5 million years"

Want more evidence people in this world are selfish?

You may not think about it, But light bulbs are among the highest power consuming product in the world.

Compare these popular types of lightbulbs-

Incondesent (Yellowish rounded)

- Short life

- Same Price

- Die instantly

- Extremely unecomnomical

Compact-Florescent light bulb

- Brighter

- Live 80% Longer

- 500% More efficent

- Same price

- Many Designs

- Proven to keep your mind more relaxed

- Die slowly, No suprises

Why arent we buying these light bulbs? Because we choose not too. My house has replaced about 40 lightbulbs with the new Compact-Floresent ones.
