That means the first release to the public of Argonath RPG IV:MP.That this would happen is actually a suprise, for months the Argonath RPG leadership did strictly work against the usage of IV:MP and also a IV:MP server on Argonath RPG. Well what happened that this changed, you may ask?
The reasons are hilarious... let's go back to 2010!
With the release of GTA: IV as like every other Grand Theft Auto game, a new board appears on forums where this game can be discussed. Soon people notice that there is a Multiplayer Modification in development, till now nobody knows if the usage is legal. Therefore Rock Stars Clan and Argonath RPG HQ announce that there won't be a multiplayer server, even though people are asking for it. Which is actually a Roll-Back as 2 people already been in position to be ready to develop it. Those 2 persons been Traser and Tai.
Months passed and we still bothered Ronnel to rethink the idea of a IV:MP server, in one conversation something happened which I personally won't forget till now. While our beloved Leader still denied the idea, I got in mind that I wrote a letter to the Rock Star Games support asking if the usage of the Multiplayer Modification is legal... I actually forgot it, but remembered it. I immediately logged into my email account and actually got a answer. He answered that the usage would be legal, but they give no support for it. "Usage on own risk", he said.
I copied and pasted into the conversation with Ronnel, within a few seconds he gave green lights for the development of Argonath RPG IV:MP.
Legolas was elected to guide us as we been new to development. Together with him we built the very first Rock Stars RPG 1.0. With a real buggy Client and Server, but hey - Back then already we been the leading server!
Now a lot of people got retired the team soon changed. Managers joined such like [R*]Carbon and people left such like Traser. A lot of developers that people today might not remember and developers, mangers and leaders that remain legends.
Then 2012 the break down, after several attacks towards Argonath brought IV:MP and it's sensible system to a break down. Now in charge: [R*]Tandtrollet, [R*]IcyAero, [R*]Dino. As I was gone during the collapse I don't know much about it I just heard things from people. But I returned and helped the busy Leaders (which are still inactive due to personal reasons, mostly studies) while I was unemployed. Sadly the game-mode I made was never released due to that the new IV:MP version was never released. Armelin saved us by modifying his game mode to a Rock Stars Retro version for the latest (kind of) stable release of IV:MP.
Today we are even stronger, as a community, a unity, as Argonath IV:MP and I wanna say thank you!
Thanks you to anyone who was around when people though IV:MP is death! Thanks for those who stayed around after, and thanks to those who play only since a few weeks and already say they love the server, you guys are the future!
Also thanks to those who ever contributed to Argonath RPG IV:MP and that should never be forgotten....
