Hi All, i made new topic to improve GTA IV performance, because last topic made by Rami, isnt updating some by him.

So, How to improve GTA IV Performance?
If you're tired of lagging, getting your game frozen each few seconds, and getting white-black textures while playing, you might want to follow the tips.

Useful tips to improve
your GTA IV performance:

SPIKE Lags.
If you're tired of spike lags, follow tip.

1. Open msconfig. It will be in start >>> Search files, WRITE>>> msconfig.
2. If you have open msconfig, go to Services ( Bookmark )  and unmark:
-Windows Event LOG
-Windows Event Collector.
3. Apply it, and IF computer want to restart, restart computer, If not want , you should restart to apply it.
3. After it game should work, fine ( it working at me ).

Next Thing is Visual effects. It improving your game 2FPS-3FPS more, You must have Definition OFF in options.

Put it in :

Main Folder GTA IV >>> Common >>>> Data.
Remember! : Definition must be OFF in Graphics Options. IT improving ur game 2-3 FPS more ( Average ).

Next Thing is Contig.

Contig  is program to  a single-file defragmenter that attempts to make files contiguous on disk. Its perfect for quickly optimizing files that are continuously becoming fragmented...

Instruction:
1. After Download, Put Contig in Main Folder GTA IV with Files.
2. Make Shortcut from it and put on Desktop.
3. Right Click on Shortcut Contig and choose >>> Properties.
4. Add on end Target:  -s    with SPACE.  Apply it.
5. Run Contig (Shortcut !!! )  as Administrator
6. It taking 20-30minutes or less.
7. Have fun with more FPS.

Farclip:

This mod increases the draw distance to the maximum, yet your draw distance in settings can be at 1 !!, IT saving precious VRAM. The idea is clipping.

FarClip 3500 - Longest View Distance before you can see the farthest reaches of the map (which show up a solid white).
FarClip 3000 - Medium Yet Still Double The GTA IV Default Distance
FarClip 2500 - Shorter Draw Distance
Better is Farclip 3500, for me.

In Theory 2GB can run it, better is situation when it have 4 GB Ram :3, Sure u can run on 2GB. it run smoother, You must have good to it card graphics i have 8gb ram :P  Remember; OFF Shadows and OFF Clip Capture :3

I won't try running it again,for now. I can run it but with an FPS drop and missing textures (fixed with patch...)

Mhmm, u have missing textures, u have any car mods? download my commandline, with it should work. Look, put in main folder.

They are missing for the first second of playing,nothing with mods...I will get something more powerfull in future and maybe I will buy it.
