Laptop doesn't detect home wifi network.

Windows Vista 32 (I know, I know. I will get to that later).

Yesterday it worked all fine when I booted it up. I was able to connect it to my home network and it could find all other networks around my place. I used it a few times when suddenly it lost connection. I tried to search for my network but it didn't show up (it still however is able to find all other wifi networks around my house, just not mine.)

This laptop I am using has had its DVD drive break down for the fifth time now. I know I can install any OS using a USB drive, but can I do that if I keep the installer in some other drive? Such as local drive D, thanks!

Also, to install from USB drive, does it need to be a exe file or iso file?

Have you tried restarting the PC and router?
Were any settings changed?
Are other devices able to detect your WiFi network? Can they connect to it?

If you wish to install OS from USB drive, you need to have the ISO file.  I have used Rufus (link: http://rufus.akeo.ie/) app myself to prepare the USB for the OS installation (boot records, necessary files etc). Simple and does what is has to do.

Restarted and reset the router, and restarted the laptop.
Nope, I was just browsing the internet when that happened.
And yeah, my phone is able to detect and connect to my wifi network.

I had this problem in my old laptop and it appeared that my reseau card died, maybe yours too, check it. To confirm this, try connecting to the internet using a cable instead of WI-FI, if it worked mean that i was right.

Many laptops have button on them that turns on/off the wifi, check out if you didn't press that accidentally.

Wireless network is on as I am able to access wifi network o my neighbours, but not mine. My phone can detect and connect to my network however.

Help again, i was able to dual boot windows 7 on another drive (f), but now how do I format c drive and get rid of vista? I have tried using disk management to format c drive, but it says that it cannot be formatted, also tried using format from right click menu. Also just deleting individual files is not possible.. Says some files cannot be deleted.

Are it two partitions on one HDD? or two seperate HDD's?

Also, you fixed the internet issue already? If not; the problem might be other devices connected to the same network causing your router to not recognize your laptop and blocking it from connecting.
You could try turning off all devices using WiFi, restarting your router and turn on your laptop's WiFi.

Single HDD, three partitions. C - Where vista is installed and which I want to format.
D - Where all the documents are.
F - Where Windows 7 is installed and which I want to keep (and later rename to C if possible.

I have also tried deleting the C drive, still no success.

Boot your laptop from the Windows installation CD/USB you previously installed your Windows with.
You'll get to a screen where you'll see all three partitions and you'll be able to remove or format them.

I initially tried installing 7 by booting from USB, but on booting from usb, it showed some error and asked me to restart using ctrl alt del. Everytime i did that, it showed ythe same error and it still does. That's why I had to install it by logging from vista.
