There are many ways to find which driver is missing, one I use most is 3DP Net which you can find Here, It's about 80mbs unless I am wrong, but contains every driver related to internet connection.

The other way around is looking up to Device Manager (Right click on 'My Computer' > Device Manager) and you should come across something like this:

In your case, the question mark should be under Network Adapters category, from there you can do right click settings/properties, navigate to the third tab (Information/Details) and from the menu choose the second (2nd) option which has the Hardware ID.  Look on the image:

Copy & Paste this here, or look the ID on Google for manual installation, else use the 3DP Net.

Feel free to ask any more questions, I hope I helped though.

Formatting will not solve it, because drivers wont be installed automatically. Download the 3DP burn it on a CD or use a USB Stick to transfer it on the other computer, run 3DP and install the driver.

Another got way of solving the issue, upgrading to a later operating system, i.e Windows 7 as they tend to find the drivers and install them automatic.
