OFFICIAL EXPERIMENT

Name of the experiment: The High-Powered Gun Creation
Type of the experiment: Machine Building | Gun Assembly
Experiment Leader: MrNiceGuy1
Date and time (in CET): Anytime when 3 or more participants have signed up
Difficulty: ( ) Easy | (X) Medium | ( ) Hard
Location: City Hall, Algonquin

Briefing: Recently, I got a call from the mayor of Liberty City.  He has become apocalyptically depressed because Sauron constantly shoots randomly from the sky destroying LC's beautifully paved roads.  Many citizens of LC have also complained to him that they were being hit by his gunshots and their cars were being ruined by Sauron's gun bullets.  The mayor has called on the Aperture Scientists to build a high-powered gun to payback Sauron for his destruction to the beautiful Liberty City.

OFFICIAL EXPERIMENT

Name of the experiment: The Portable Deejay-proof Black Hole Interpolation
Type of the experiment: Machine Building | Physics
Experiment Leader: victor2662
Date and time (in CET): Anytime
Difficulty: (X) Easy | ( ) Medium | ( ) Hard
Location: Laboratory (Apt HQ)

Briefing: So, Mane_Lucchese called me a few days back worried about his wallet, saying that Deejay stole it. He then required from us a machine that would prevent such constant pickpocketing from Deejay. We now came to this idea of a Portable Black Hole that transports whatever stuff you put in your wallet to wherever else, so Deejay couldn't steal it from us anymore. It sounds like a great idea for those tired of getting their wallets stolen from Deejay. We will discuss more about how to do it in-game on the Lab.

OFFICIAL EXPERIMENT

Name of the experiment: The Mysterious Message Decryption
Type of the experiment: Forum Experiment | Math
Experiment Leader: victor2662
Date and time (in CET): -
Difficulty: ( ) Easy | ( ) Medium | (X) Hard
Location: -

Briefing: While I was eating my breakfast today at the Lab, I saw a very strange rat carring a piece of paper in its mouth. I obviously went there to gently take off the paper from the mouse to see what was written in it. On the paper there were some numbers, seems like a very ancient encrypted message hidden deep inside the Lab for ages. Here is how the rusty paper looks like:

When I first looked at it, I quickly saw that it was an encrypted message using an invertible Affine Function, but I need help decrypting it. From what I know, those kinds of encryptions are based on assuming a certain letter to a number in ascending order. Like this:

Using those numbers, that function and this table, can anyone solve this and discover the encrypted message?

PS.: I wanna see the calculations on how you to solve this, not just the answer. =P
PS.: Only Apt members are allowed to solve this, so if you are not in Apt, please don't answer it and don't spoil the fun... :3

[Apt]MrNiceGuy's Solution:

With the help of my mathematically unchallenged brain, I noticed that you can put the encrypted numbers as f(x) and then isolate for x to discover the missing letter.  I have done it for every letter in the solution below:

By using my Apt superpowers, I put the letters together and discovered the encrypted message to be:
Spoiler for Hiden:
KILL THE QUACKER

Name of the experiment: The Ride to Happiness Island
Type of the experiment: Trip | Vacation
Experiment Leader: [Apt]George | GeorgeTheGod
Date and time (in CET): Anytime
Difficulty: (x) Easy | ( ) Medium | ( ) Hard

Briefing: This morning, my father ordered me to do something really useful to the family, he told me to go fishing... Yes, right, the size of the fish should be BIG ( I'm depending this on Scientist MrNiceGuy.) The purpose of this trip to Happiness Island is to just have fun, hang out, enjoy, and maybe innovate your brain on more and more ideas about our next experiment. Apt should take a break and stop their job from building machines, have some fun outside of the Lab. ( We will use our Head Scientist's boat; Dinghy, and head to Happiness Island.)

Fishing, fishing and fishing!
