It's amazing how you people manage to turn every topic into a religious hate discussion with more insults than an episode of Hell's Kitchen.

If you really want to delve into that, then you have to consider that every religion has its share of nuts (there are Christian extremists and white supremacists too, and Christianity has been around longer to have atrocities committed under its name than Islam) that make the rest look bad, and that western media is responsible for turning to focus to Islam when in fact, there is a lot more to reality than what the media chooses to show you.

But getting back to the topic at hand, the root problem is the matter of cultural respect. It's one thing to expect people to show respect for your culture, but it's another when you have a multinational event hosted in your country and expect all your visitors from around the globe to adhere to your customs like they were born and raised here.

The most important part is interacting with others and meeting people from around the world.

Oh Brazil wasn't bombarded? Damn man I really went dumb didn't I?

I was talking about media or whoever made that picture, he made all of that post apocalyptic looking shit just to catch your eye.

Well you sure know how to put up a convincing act. :)

Sure he added an artistic edge to it in order to get a message across, doesn't mean that it's a lie.

But seriously guys, I would rather go to World Cup in some retarded African country than any muslim country. You have to stop living a lie, most of the world doesn't like muslims and yes it's mostly because of those suicide bombers. You guys will always say that people are bad and religion is good, but those suicide bombers were following that religion.

You'd probably feel right at home if you were to go to one of them countries instead. And lol that's as stupid as someone saying every Serb wants to kill Muslim women and children all the time, because Ratko was a Serb. Anyway, i'm sure no-one's begging for you to go so eh, enjoy watching it at home.

And yeah, you don't have to hate Brazil just because some people on this forum don't like Qatar.  :v:

It has nothing to do with that, it's just stupid how you can act so empathetic towards people who might go watch the World Cup in Qatar but say "omg but no its land of football" when it comes to Brazil and the problems its people have surrounding the upcoming tournament.

Anyway I hope there is an inquiry into the decision to hold the WC '22 in Qatar, especially after some of the recent revelations of bribery and the human rights abuses previously reported.

If it's because of this dress-code thing, remember that some Muslim countries are different from others, like Albania (I would also say Kosovo, but I don't want you to feel provoked).

In what world do you live in, because it is not the same as the rest of us. Most of the world doesn't judge people by their religion that is just idiotic.

And we do not try to be real life, as why would you ever play real life if you have one ? We play the GTA universe, and our players should try to live in the GTA world, not the real one.

Oh...wait a minute! Do you think Brazil ''have the money too''' because they are hosting World cup 2014. Media have reported that many epople have did alot of riot against this year world cup in Brazil.

I guess Qatar got a chance to host it because never been on there pervious. Like cmon...South Africa got a chance to host it and they had this Vuvuzela thing.

All country deserva a chance to host it, and I think Qatar deserve it. After the World cup they going just keep the Stadiums for a other football events.
Brazil is world renown for its following of football, has won several world cups and is home to some of the best players in the world. The country has a population of 200 million, whilst Qatar is 100 times less... 2 million. Do Brazil deserve to host the world cup? YES - they are a big part of football. Hopefully everyone in the country can benefit it - especially the poor, but that is not the same issue as Qatar, which is a very small, rich country who don't really give a shit about football.

I judge people based on their religion when their religion is as judgmental as islam or christianity and they still choose to follow it.

If just stating things about a country or religion provokes people, maybe that's something they need to think about.

Do you realize that this is just one of a few discussions on internet about Islam that is somehow peaceful. And no I didn't provoke anyone in my previous posts.

If it's because of this dress-code thing, remember that some Muslim countries are different from others, like Albania (I would also say Kosovo, but I don't want you to feel provoked).
Albania is Muslim to somehow ''provoke'' Serbia, no idea how to explain it better.

also nice b8 with kosovo  :cop:

We can't expect every individual in any group to have the same mindset as the loud voices in their group.
In a large number countries cultural identity and religious identity go hand in hand, and when they're almost considered one and the same, people's don't go about thinking 'oh this is what religion says', but they consider it as their way of life.

Anyway, hopefully in the next decade whatever customs get officially endorsed will be considerate of all people. Besides, rather than thinking about all of this from a religious POV, it might be better to think about the practicality of things. Having lived in the Middle East, I know it's not that fun wearing heavy/all covering clothes all the time; most clothes that cover the whole body just aren't suitable unless you know you're going to be covered by AC full time (like in many places in Qatar, UAE) and not in a congested space. I guess a football crowd isn't so open.

Also for host countries of any large event, while the international spotlight is guaranteed for a few weeks, the pressure's also on and increasingly they have to expend more money and resources to meet expectations.
Even the smallest slip ups are enlarged by certain cynical media outlets, which sometimes may even be the ones which you'd expect to be spared from bias.
The 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi and Sochi Winter Olympics suffered a little from this. :)

You have to respect your hosts, small or large, and really most dress codes are hardly the biggest problem - just a few seem really unsuitable.
Besides, so many restaurants, hotels and clubs all over the world demand you wear certain type of clothes if you want to gain access, and some of their rules are much more exhausting.
