Hello there dudes and dudettes,

I bought a laptop like 10 days ago. It's a Toshiba P70-A so they have some recovery image inside the internal HDD, which is nice. But my issue here is when I turn it on: I get this:

Call me "picky" but I need it to boot straight into Windows 8 without showing that screen. It has a timer of 5 seconds before it goes into it but like I said.. I'm kinda picky. I already tried going through the UEFI/BIOS to try and find the option for it but there wasn't one. And yes I clicked on the "change defaults or choose other options".. option; no luck.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Regards.

I had the same problem after I moved to Windows 7 from XP, whenever I was turning the laptop on it was giving me a similar issue.

I solved it with this: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/change-the-default-operating-system-for-startup-multiboot

Not sure if it's working for Windows 8 as well, but it worked for 7.

For others, these settings are also accessible in other Microsoft Windows OS'es, however accessing that section may be done slightly differently. There are also numerous other ways to change the OS start-up information manually to do that, but the way posted is the recommended method.

This pretty much falls on the person who sold you the computer for failing to properly set up certain settings before deploying the generic image to their systems. Glad to see you got it working, though! :)
