Don't expect ARPD to teach you everything , they will never do. To be a better officer you need practice and time , focus on it and you will succeed.

Also, not everyone aims to something, some people may join just to have fun with friends.
About helping I am of the idea that not everyone wants to introduce new players due the fact they haven't a precise idea of how to and how it work.

Thank you for the comment, Mark. Well, I didn't say that I wanted to be taught everything, there are some things you can't be taught, you know. I just want basis only. Not a photo/chart to teach the officer, but an officer(player) that can show you how to do it. And, by aim, I didn't mean achievements(although, you are right about that), I meant aiming with a gun. For example, I had one day a tough suspect. I had 70 shotgun ammo and 300 pistol ammo, and I started shooting the suspect. Other officers were doing that, too. And the suspect was walking very slowly, like he was calm, and he knew that he wouldn't die soon. You know, 3 shotgun shots to a normal health would kill the player. Maybe he had an armor. But I shot his body and head more than six times, and I accidentaly shot a cop, too. And he was shot by two shotgun hits. And, when I told an officer that the suspect won't die, he said because I don't know how to aim. That's why we need a police academy, but not affecting the free will of players. I think that can be done.

I agree with you, there should be a balance between good and evil. But not too many cops that do rulebreaks, pls.

Yeah, that's what I thought first when I read it. Not everyone is perfect, you know. And there should be a . Not only good cops or only bad ones.

Shooting in IV:MP is difficult because desync and missing Z angle, plus high ping it's an explosive combination.
I guess none except ARPD and Criminal groups will ever teach you everything about it.

No. Rules are made for a reason and there's no need to have balance between players who rulebreak and players who follow the rules. Everyone should follow them for quite obvious reasons.

There could be created test like the MTA:SA one that cops can take after getting Passport and License.
With this we will be sure that the new cop's will know the rules and everything to be a cop.
There is also already academy within the LCPD that you can join any time by applying and posting some patrol reports it's not too hard to get in it and will also teach you a lot of things.

MTA:SA is Argonath's server on... MTA:SA.

To join the ARPD there, first of all you need to play for like 7 days and have a valid passport. Once you got them, you visit the police department and take a small test on how you will act in situations and several rules and regulations questions. Once you know enough, you pass the test and you're ready to become a police officer!

No. Rules are made for a reason and there's no need to have balance between players who rulebreak and players who follow the rules. Everyone should follow them for quite obvious reasons.

On a more serious note, not even academy for police officers would teach them everything. It's the everyday duty that makes you better over time. Of course, this process might be boosted by lessons from more experienced cops, but after all, it's you who has to realise what it means to you to be a good police officer and find ways to improve yourself.

Not only in the cop job, but generally; Knowledge is not enough to make someone good in what he's doing. His will is the key to success. Rules are to keep the server clean of actions that may lead players gaining advantage over other players, so rulebreaking isn't to be accepted, not even balanced.

In short to be a good officer you need a lot of time in patrols and you need to experience as many situations as you can while with a better officer so you know how to react and behave

Both ARPD and players can help you be that, but in general you and only you are the make or break factor.
