If you take a moment to look at financial reports for 2013, 2012 at club.argonathrpg.com, you can see that the end cost to the owners was 1100 Euros (1403 USD), this is even with donations, and it's noticeable that advertising can help to raise a lot of funds.
One Thousand, One Hundred Euros is a big sum to be committed to paying each year especially with the times we currently face,
Now, you may not know this but money raised through advertising is done so by simple banners being displayed on the site.
Now it's your choice whether you click the adverts or not. NO ONE is telling you to neither will they tell you to ,but, if you've got Adblock (or similar) installed on your browser, perhaps you could spare a bit of time, and consideration for how that effects the community.
Argonath RPG will always be free to play on, with no "pay to win" attitude ever, but money is always needed, and no one asks but the funding still has to be done, be this by for example, Gandalf working extra shifts in the real world, or going without of certain things or family holidays or be it by letting companies advertise on the website.
One way you can help, if you're not able to actively donate cold hard cash, would be, to white-list Argonath domains on browser addons which you may have installed such as Adblock Plus.
This will show advertisements back on the forum for yourself, which are two simple banners at the top and the bottom.
They do not cause much bother, they are just hyper-linked images created from what websites you have visited recently, they'll always be appropriate.
For example, the last advert I saw was for a fridge freezer (that's what I was looking for on the net), and will never have content for what else I was watching on the net *embarrassed guilty look on face*. Now I happened to click the advert for a fridge, and it was useful for me, in theory that made the community probably 0.005 USD (half a cent), but it was what I was looking for so I didn't mind, and didn't go out of my way to click it to cheat the advertises (which they would not like)but what your advert shows you is up to you, and again, if you click it, it's up to you!
This thread is aimed to help you support one of your favorite websites by taking the time to enable adverts if you have adblock plus installed.
Please take a few moments to consider whether or not you would be as so kind!
To white list Argonathrpg.eu on Chrome for Adblock Plus, simply follow these steps:
1. copy pasta this into your address bar: chrome://extensions/
2. Click "options" which shows on the list, under AdBlock Plus
3. Click & go to the "whitelisted domains" tab.
4. Then follow the instructions and add domains of Argonath RPG (not URLS).
I added argonathrpg.com and mtasa.argonathrpg.com aswell as ARPD.argonathrpg.com and club.argonathrpg.com
5. When it shows in the list, you will have completed the steps.
After this point, you can then see adverts that would interest you (and NOT the kind that are annoying or that have voice on them).
What you do with them from there on in is up to you.
