Here is the first major update to RS5 in 2015.
This update will be focused on vehicle tuning in order to provide a better way for our players to tune their vehicle, to combat a few internal issues we currently have with vehicle tuning and to get rid of the god awful disaster called /tune (i made it, you can blame me for it).
Transfender, Wheel Arch Angels and Loco Low shops opening
That's correct. All these tuning shops will be available for all players to use to tune their vehicles. Please note though, any restrictions from Single Player is still in effect here. You wont be able to tune a Slamvan in a Transfender and so on. You will also not be able to use these tuning shops to regain hp for your vehicle. The HP on your vehicle wont change at all no matter what you are purchasing inside the shop.
But wait, i can't buy color changes or paintjobs inside tuning shops?!
That is correct. The reason for this is because while it's technically possible to make it work, the way it needs to be done is too unreliable and will most likely bug players and make them pay more than they should. For this, 3 commands has been added to vehicle dealerships instead which will be explained later in this post.
But what about paintjobs?
Paintjob support is already scripted and working as it should. However, the problem right now is to actually create a way to allow players to purchase it properly.
The way i have planned on doing this is similar to /buycolor. However, it will be dialog based instead and it will take some time to implement properly which is why i have decided to release this system now without a way to purchase a paintjob. It will not take long time though for it to be created. I'm expecting it to be done within a week, 2 weeks maximum.
What about group vehicles?
At this moment, group vehicles are not supported and can not be tuned through this system. However, the plan is to add so group leaders can tune his/her group cars aswell this way.
Will i keep my current tuning?
No, all tuning on every vehicle will be deleted. Due to me failing, all tuning actually have been free ever since the release without us noticing it. If we would let you all keep the tuning on your cars, we would basically give you free money.
Known issues
Whenever you exit a modshop, you will see the modshop entrance for a short amount of time then it will look like you are teleported away up in the sky for 3 seconds. This is something i have done on purpose and that is to stop any eventual desync problems. During testing, we found out that certain parts is desyncing after removing them inside a modshop (in this case, through /cleartuning). One of these parts was Nitro and it would be usable even when it shouldn't be. With this in mind, this system was invented as it will prevent anyone abusing that desync problem to gain Nitro.
Be careful when using /buycolor. Some cars supports 2 different colors and others only 1 color. If you are using /buycolor on a car that only support 1 color but uses both options for colors, you will pay $300 instead of $150, regardless that you can't use a second color on your vehicle. If you are not sure if your vehicle support 2 different colors, you can easily find out by using /prevcolor first. If your vehicle only supports 1 color, just use -1 as second color.
New commands
/cleartuning
This command has been added to allow players to remove all tuning from their vehicles if they would like to. When using this command, you will first be warned that you will only recieve 70% of the component value back for each component you have on your car and you will be asked to use it a second time to comfirm that you really want to clear out the tuning you have. If you then use it a second time, it all will be removed and you will recieve 70% of what the tuning components combined are worth.
/prevcolor [color1] [color2]
This command can be used at vehicle dealerships to preview a new color. When using this command, your vehicle will change color for 10 seconds. After 10 seconds, it will change back to your original color.
/buycolor [color1] [color2]
This command is the one to use when you actually want to buy a new color for your car. If you dont want one of those 2 colors to change, just use -1 on one of the 2 options (Example: "/buycolor '-1' '2'" or "/buycolor '2' '-1'"). Each color changed costs $150.
/buypaintjob
This will be the command to purchase a paintjob for a vehicle that supports it. Will be added within a week or 2.
This will be uploaded onto the server later tonight or sometime tomorrow. I will make a post in this topic when it has been uploaded and activated.
