I have gathered some money to upgrade my PC after few years and seeking advice from people, who know better, what parts go together best.

My current setup is
CPU: AMD A6-3650 Quad-core 2.6 GHz
Motherboard: Asrock A75M-HVS
RAM: 2x4GB DDR3 @1600MHz
GPU: Asus HD6670 1GB GDDR5
PSU: Corsair CX430M

Currently planning to get new CPU and GPU, along with new motherboard then (new CPU socket and PCI-E 3.0).
I have a CPU cooler already, so no need to worry about that (Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo).

So far I have been thinking about i5-4690K and GeForce GTX960 (recommend manufacturers).
My budget is approximately 300-400 euros for this upgrade. Might also get a SSD if there will be money left over.

I can get one of those graphics cards for a cheap prize as new (a friend is selling). New costs like
* Inno3D GeForce GTX 960 OC HerculeZ X2
* MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 2G
* EVGA GeForce GTX 960 SSC ACX 2.0+
* Gigabyte GeForce GTX 960 OC Windforce 2X
* Gigabyte GeForce GTX 960 Gaming G1 Windforce 3X

Or do you have better recommendations?

Buy an AMD FX processor, don't waste money for Intel i5.

The graphics card is awesome.

AMD FX-8350? Price difference with an i5-4690k is 70 euros :O

I'm lower on budget so I may go for 6350 with Sapphire VGA PCI X R7 260X 2GB GD5.

8350 is a beast, yeah.  :)

But Intel (especially i5-i7 series) fits well with nVIDIA GPUs.

back again!

Found some cheaper ways and probably going for i5-4690K if I can get in contact with the seller on Monday.

Any recommendations for the motherboard? What brands should I look at for graphics cards (is there any difference)? Would my CX430M PSU be enough for that setup (i5-4690K and GTX960)?

There is really no specific difference between Intel and AMD. Each company has its own focus, but the only differences you will find will be in comparing each individual product against one another. To pick a side based on brand is not going to get you a better setup. ;)

Also found an offer for Zotac GTX970 4GB GDDR5, which is 50 euros more expensive than EVGA GTX 960 SSC ACX 2.0+ (which I had been planning to get so far). Opinions?

I recommend this, it's a beastly overbuild card.
However, if your budget fits it. Go with the 970.

It's only about an extra 50 dollars as he said, he can save up a little more.

Ordered the i5-4690K (only slightly more than the AMD FX-8350, gotta love discounts through acquaintances), for motherboard I have chosen Asus Z97M-PLUS (or you have better ideas?) and as for graphics card, I am still comparing those 2.

Same as me! 4690k and ASUS Z97 beautiful set up. No issues, and well overclocking the possibilities are endless.

Ive got my i5 4690k from 3.5GHZ to 4.5GHZ by just turning up the multiplier, no voltages etc.

Also the 960 is a decent card, was thinking about chucking that into this board also.
But it only supports crossfire, so if you can maybe go for high-end AMD? R9 290/x? and then crossfire?
I got 2 R9 270x's in crossfire and they are pretty darn' decent.

I wouldn't recommend something like this even to my worst enemies.

That CPU is spectacular was well, I'd keep it in the build.

I'd go with the 960 GPU and make sure you get the 4G version, you won't need to upgrade that puppy for a while and you won't be let down. If you can get the upgraded 980, then you're all set, hands down.

On a side note:
I'd also recommend before replying having some actual experience as some of the advice here has made me laugh a bit.. clearly some who built their first machine and think they know hardware inside and out. I say this because this is someone's money we're essentially talking about... don't want one's lack of knowledge to end up wasting it.
