Hi guys,

I tried in many different ways, I looked for a solution in many forums, sites, everywhere..

With my old GTX560 I used to render videos (Vegas Pro/Sony Vegas) using CUDA (Fermi). I'm aware that nVidia removed some files in the latest drivers but I didn't realize it so far as I haven't been rendering videos for a long time, and now that I "have" a connection with a very nice upload speed I wanted to try again. As a result my GTX760 (Kepler) doesn't work with Vegas Pro (13 in my case), rendering a video in 1080@60 of around 30 mins takes more than 2 hours as it uses only the CPU (i7 2600)..

The only thing I didn't try is installing old drivers but I'm afraid of losing performances on the latest games..

Is anyone experiencing the same problem? Found a solution?

Thank you

I think it only works with certain codecs...probably h264?

But I do not use Sony Vegas, so I cannot confirm any of that.

I'm using Sony main concept that, as far as I know, should be the perfect choice for GPU rendering (I guess it uses h264). I remember I tried another one forcing the codec but still no luck..

As I just got my GTX970 today, I tried to do some video rendering on Sony Vegas Pro 13 as well. CPU was doing the whole work, unfortunately.

I did some research on the internet and found that Sony Vegas' newest codecs (MainConcept MP4) do not have the ability to use the CUDA cores on the newer GPUs (I have Maxwell GPU). People said there should be another codecs for MP4, which do support rendering via GPU, however I haven't had the chance to try it yet.

Yeah I heard of that too, unfortunately Sony hasn't released any official patch to fix this.. not to forget what nvidia did dropping the support overnight..

I'm very sorry you're experiencing this problem as well, things like this shouldn't happen, especially when you just spent money to get a top card.

Please update me as soon as there are news about these codecs, feel free to post here in order to help anyone else experiencing the issue.

I'm actually planning to switch to another video editing application unless this will be fixed shortly.

You wouldn't be wrong.. I heard there is some kind of plugin for Adobe Premiere.. didn't even try, fact is I'm too used to the simple way Vegas works. Tell me if you find anything working with our GPUs ;)

I think the plugin you are talking about is called "NVENC-export". May want to take a look at it ;)

Yeah I saw that one a while ago. I just tried it and it looks like working.. with a very quick test it cuts the rendering time by 2x/4x

In case you're interested Janar, the author stated it works with 6xx/7xx series only, but I would give it a shot :)
