I don't know why people can't just help the new players and show them how to play like they used to do years ago. Maybe then the new people wouldn't misunderstand the gamemode and starting shooting everyone...

In that sense, what would stop the said player from having another player buy weapons for them or them simply going on cop duty?

I can understand your logic, and just have others have suggested, helping new players IS crucial. However, you can DRIVE a car without a license. If someone is asking for assistance with weapons, and can be tutored, then of course can be given guns if they are going to attempt to do it correctly. Also going on cop duty only allows for access to a handgun. I know we are having Teddy come in as temp admin and have a wave of moderator applications. This idea was really targeted towards the "new" players that disregard all help and rules, go straight to ammunation with the start cash. Just my honest opinion of a fair compromise between the two points of view of no weapons from start for new players and not wanting to limit too much within the server. Since we cannot effectively ban these 3-4 guys that come on at night JUST to DM, just a consideration. :)

Guess who's back?

Regular Players rulebreak on purpose, knowing the consequences of their actions. On the other hand, we have new players, that there is a 50% possibility, they might not even know what RP means. So, Most of new players don't rulebreak, cause they want to harm the community, but because they don't know the rules. Throwing around a /rules isn't the easy way out. As a newbie, and i believe it's not only me, i never decided to see rules and learn them by heart so i can follow them. I learnt the rules, and most players here, by gaining expirience.

My opinion and the solutions, i'm going to provide are precise, but i just might go a little far to express it. So, summing up, a player can get weapons from the welcoming money pack he receives or by entering officer duty.

I'm going to start with the first. For New Players to gain expirience, they should explore around argonath and probably try some jobs. Giving them, money, up to 10k, is like giving them, weapons in their start.. Think about it.. The welcoming money, is the way, new players can get weapons from their first hour in Argonath. My suggestion is, lowing the ammount of money, in the welcoming pack, down to like 3k. I concluded into that ammount, thinking of a new player's basic needs. That is, CB($500),Phone($500),GPS($500),Skin(200$+),Fuel($50+). We can't totally remove, the welcoming money, cause the new players that are being helped, will need those money, for those basic needs. So as long as, newcomers will be helped, the 3k won't be spended on weapons. To earn money, they will have to work, that means they will gain expirience and understand more of the rules etc. I believe when the time comes they will get a weapon, they will know how to use it.

Now, about SAPD. I seriously, can't understand how, officers that are DMers and abusers, get to pass the SAPD Scripted Exam. I mean, to get the questions right or its by instict, or luck, or on knowledge. But, half of new player cops, don't seem to follow the things that they have answered right. First of all, I think ARPD should exist again, but this time with this scripted exam. While, ARPD Officers existed, we were a little cautious before RPing with them. Knowing they might be abusers, regular players, could face them right, depending on the case. Now then, whoever wants to follow professionally the career of an officer, can apply for SAPD. The second suggestion, is a pop up text IG ,when someone has succeed or even failed the scripted exam. This text, will talk about how officers work, what should they do and what they shouldn't do.

That's what i think, basicly. About ARPD.. If it's not ARPD.. Then a SAPD Cadet rank, should be created. Everyone who passes the scripted exam, will be in that rank, with a lighter blue than the members+.. With a lowered welcoming money pack and with SAPD separated with a simple text, describing how officers should work, i belive the problem will be fixed.

My only worries are based on the text, that i suggested for new officers trying to pass the exam or passing it. You can't know if they will read it entirely. Anyway, that was my suggestions add up below your reviews on that :D

Are you talking about these two boys here :

I hope you realise that mods, vehicle mods, that change your vehicle handling are illegal. And I'm pretty sure no vehicle in SA with the stock handling is able to pull that type of turning, even with e-brake at 0:51

You people are so f**cking hardheaded it's ridiculous. When was the last time you even logged in, Sugar? When was the last time you tried picking up a misguided new player and teaching him the rules? I don't know about you but I try to go the extra mile to teach a new player proper etiquette regardless if they ask for my advice or not when I see them slipping up.

A majority of new players don't give two fifths of a fuck about learning our rules and following them even if they are taught the rules directly. Many come on for the sole purpose of death, destruction, and causing chaos, not for roleplay and the community. Many come on and DM and learn that it's not a deathmatch server, then leave - cool! And there are many that come on & are told the rules, then go on to deathmatch and get themselves banned after getting warned/kicked/tempbanned. To disregard the existence of these kinds of players is willful ignorance on your part.

You are naive if you still think nobody is trying to teach new players, and should perhaps try spending more time teaching them yourself (and learning how futile it is in many cases - never stops me from trying before you call me a quitter) instead of pointing fingers. New players are not mentally deficient like you seem to be writing them off as.

Now go ahead and tell me all about how I'm teaching hard-headed trolls the simplest rules possible incorrectly. Hell, I don't even tell a new player how to buy guns until they tell me why they need them. There is no good reason to allow the players that come on to troll and DM for teh lulz to have such easy access to weapons. Guns are for roleplay, right? Then they should prove that they are here to roleplay. Watch how many of those hard-headed DMing trolls immediately leave when they learn they have to actually dedicate a little time to the server before being able to buy guns.

Tired of this community blaming the regulars for every new player's smelly shit. So ungrateful.

Don't know why people who never play anymore actually have any room to talk. I guess you need to see the problem in order to understand it.

Just a thought.

Lol, you're right, but not, each one of them is like that. 50% of the new players i help, get banned for hacking or DMing.. It's dissapointing.

sad but true. i have encountered many of the sort, demotivated me to some extent from helping new players

It's an infernus, you can easily do that.

There's a significant noticeable change on the handling, specially before he starts 'drifting'. An infernus could not pull that start.
