I can tab out, i never had a problem with GTA SA so far and no problems at all. You're just nub :D
Ehh - I also face this issue on ALL my computers that were installed with Windows 10.
2 of them were fresh installs, 6 of them were upgrades...hmm..

Enjoy not being able to tab, a buggy as interface, and GTA SA working when it wants to. Yes its a clean install.

If you can't alt+tab out of a game you really fail to computer.
I haven't had a single issue with Windows 10 Pro since installing. Games run perfectly and everything works without fault.

@Luke  you just need to ESC before you alt+tab and it will work fine when you come back.

Yea, it's his fault that he can't alt-tab out of an application. Nothing to do with the OS, nosiree.

I'm gonna hold out as long as I can probably. Start10 isn't out of beta yet (although apparently it works quite well anyway) so I'd be relying on beta software to fix that abortion of a start menu, and there are no DirectX12 games yet so actually there's no real benefits to upgrading. Also, I have 8.1 Home so before I upgrade I have to obtain 8.1 Pro because I am not absolutely having windows 10 home edition.
Might also be good to wait and see if there are more third party applications being developed that will block private data transmissions to MS & co.

tl;dr can I just get windows 7 that boots faster and with directx12 thanks

The paranoia is real I guess. What do you have to hide? I really don't get why people are so uptight about some data being accessible by the manufacturer of the operating system you are using.

If you really want to have a closed OS where no one can see what you do, go look for some linux edition that will accommodate you.

It's really more of a nice-to-have feature than a requirement for me, after all I use FB chat for all online communication, have a searchable web footprint the size of a whale, and no doubt an excellent file at google detailing my entire browsing history since I use it as a launch page. So I'd be pretty hypocritical if I singled out Microsoft I guess.

Took me 8 hours even though I have a pretty good download speed rate just for the ISO format, then I realized I had no DVD-Drive to burn it too.  Downloaded it straight onto a USB stick and it took barely any time at all.  I'd go for downloading it to a USB stick if you have one.

The most popular linux distro i.e Ubuntu spies on you much more than MS ever could. Every search you do in the unity dash (Their replacement for searching in the start menu) is not only sent to Canonical (The company incharge of ubuntu) but is also shared with amazon, along with your IP.

I just put Windows 10 on my Windows to Go flash drive and now I just boot windows 10 up from my flash drive. I can use all the resources of the computer.

Best. Idea. Ever. Do it guys.

Five things that you should consider when upgrading to Windows 10:

  • Your upgrade is not permanent. Atleast not if you want to increase your ram or get a new harddisk in the future. When you're updated to Windows 10, windows changes your key to something else, which cannot be used to reinstall W10 (Or atleast that has been my experience with two computers). If you want to format your PC, you can format it and once you've updated to 10 on that PC once, it won't ask you for any keys. This is because MSFT sends your hardware hash (A unique identifier for your system's configurations) to it's servers and uses that to authorize your reformat. However, if you change your hardware (And microsoft has refused to release any information on exactly which components being changed comprises a change to the hash) you won't be able to activate your new installation. If that's before september 2016, you can simply reinstall W7/8.1 and then upgrade again. If it's after September 2016, you need to buy a W10 license.
  • Microsoft can remove software from your computer. According to MSFT's EULA, they have the ability and right to go through your computer and remove 'pirated' software. Before you say that's not all that bad, remember that facebook didn't get rich selling only ads. MSFT can very easily find clients that would pay big bucks to purchase data about who is using their products and their competitors products. Further, their spying goes so far as to actually identify if the copy is genuine or not, meaning they are executing custom code to identify information about the software on your computer. That's worse than facebook could ever get.
  • Cortana is a keylogger. Well, not exactly, but it's close. Microsoft sends your keystrokes to it's database ("Anonymously"). Even if MSFT themselves don't use this data, there is always the risk that a third party might hack into MSFT's servers and steal valuable information (It is not clear whether software like keyscrambler can actually stop this, as MSFT can easily hinder them if they want).
  • Updates are no longer voluntary. This means that you don't get to decide when MSFT makes major changes to your systems.
  • Of the 12+ systems i have upgraded to W10 so far, 2 broke down. Both of them had AMD APU processors (I did upgrade other systems with APU aswell and successfully, however). They got stuck at the getting ready part and upon rebooting again got stuck on restoring W8.1. Both the clients asked me to just do a clean install ASAP so i didn't do any research on how easy/difficult it is to fix it.

That said, currently i have installed W10 on my own pc (Clean install). I'm still not sure if i'm keeping it though.
