Argonath: The Future

Hello,

I was approached a few days ago by a player, Truth, who expressed how players are getting our openness to expand confused with that of a community which is destined for a serious RP server. Let me be clear and direct in saying, Argonath is not and never will be a serious roleplay server or real life roleplay server. That is not what we started out as, that is not what we are, that is not what we want to be. We want people to have variable control over their roleplay.

This means we need to be accepting in roleplay differences, such as just because someone doesn't use OCC, which formally Argonath doesn't support in RP, doesn't make them a terrible roleplayer. We all come from different background of RP and thus should accept we all have our own very unique style in doing so.

This doesn't mean to those who like top quality RP should be discouraged to seek out such. There are plenty of people out there who are on the same field as you within our server. In addition it doesn't mean you shouldn't RP with people who do not hold the same style as you. Everyone is a better RPer when they understand their method of RP is not the only which exists.

Indeed, I think the point is that Argonath caters for all kinds of RP/playing styles, which is part of the whole attraction of Argonath!

Thanks. Great to hear that we're not becoming a 100% serious rp server. Cause sometimes that the impression you get when people keeps complaning at your rp.

Obviously. Everyone has his own way to live, to make friends and to role play. We shouldn't discourage anyone who doesn't Role play like us even I'm not a good role player but I always, seek to learn.

If people would find it feasible to add a serious roleplay server I would not object to it, and should it attract new people that would be welcomed as well. The current HQ is doing their best to cater to those who wish a less violent and more play oriented style, and I am supporting that without hesitation.
Argonath RPG is traditionally one of the few that allows roleplay in every way, and 'serious' should be able to play as well as any other variation. However do remember that 'serious' roleplay does not equal skilled roleplay.

I do not suggest things in an attempt to turn Argonath into a serious roleplay server. The variety of roleplay has provided these changes and I agree, play in a serious roleplay server does not guarantees being a skilled roleplayer. But, how can you increase your knowledge and skills in roleplay if you don't try the variety levels by your own? Staying in a light and/or medium type wont make you more skilled either. This should be thought as the main reason of the suggested changes, give a push up into a new type of gameplay so the players can learn more.

If you want to play a srs roleplay server there are plenty around samp... feel free to go play there... simple as that

Turning Argonath to serious role play server is not a good idea, i guess. A person need to be skilled, we do not call a best role player to a person who act like real life role play as Belta said. If peoples really want to join a serious role play server, There are many servers at samp, I suggest them to join one.

Exactly. To be more skilled, you need to explore more from everyone who does low, medium and high role play. It is impossible to be skilled if you won't leave the low role play. To be more general, try to learn from everyone even from a newbie as everyone has his own way and style and no one is better than anyone.

We are all equal, the only difference between us is experience and skills.
