[Guide] - Forum account (and how to improve it)

Hey there!

I am here to give you some tips to boost up your forum account, that includes the following and more:

• Having more topics per section
• having more replies per topic
• Receiving a notification when you get a forum PM
• Forum Profile help
• Forum Signature help

Taking a look at your profile:

Step 1.
Head to http://www.argonathrpg.eu/index.php?action=profile to look at your profile

Step 2.
You will see a section named: Modify Profile, with the following

• Account Settings
• Forum Profile
• Look and Layout
• Notifications
• Personal Messaging
• Ignore Boards Options
• Buddies/Ignore List

Account Settings

Inside account settings you have the abillity to

• Change your e-mail
• Disallow or Allow users to email you
• Change your password
• Show others your online status
• Change your secret question

Forum Profile

Inside Forum Profile you have the abillity to

• Choose a Avatar (from the gallery, or uploaded.
• Change your Personal Text (below your avatar)
• Change your Birthdate, location and gender
• Change your ICQ and AIM
• Change your Custom Title (above your avatar)
• Change your location on the Member Map
• Changing your Website URL and website title
• Changing your SA:MP, Skype, Twitter, IV:MP, VC:MP, DayZ, Minecraft, Stunt and Steam tags/ID

Look and Layout

Inside Look and Layout you have the abillity to

• Change the Current Theme
• Change the Time Format and Time Offset
• Show board descriptions inside boards.
• Show child boards on every page inside boards, not just the first.
• Not show users' avatars.
• Not show users' signatures.
• Return to topics after posting by default.
• Don't warn on new replies made while posting.
• Hide messages posted by members on my ignore list.
• Show most recent posts at the top.
• Show WYSIWYG editor on post page by default.
• Change the Topics to display per page (5-50)
• Change the Messages to display per page (5-50)
• Change the First day of the week on the calendar:
• Change the Use quick reply on topic display

Notifications

Inside Notifications you have the abillity to

• Change how to Receive forum newsletters, announcements and important notifications
• Change how to Turn notification on/off when you post or reply to a topic.
• Change the topics and boards you've requested notification on
• Change the topics and boards you've requested notification on or off

Personal Messaging

Inside Personal Messaging you have the abillity to

• Change how to Display personal messages:
• Change how to Show most recent personal messages at top.
• Change from who to Receive personal messages from
• Change how to Notify every time you receive a personal message
• Show a popup when you received new messages.
• Save a copy of each personal message in my sent items by default.
• Remove the inbox label when applying another label

Ignore Boards Options

Inside Ignore Boards Options you have the abillity to

• Let this page ignore particular boards. When a board is ignored, the new post indicator will not show up on the board index. New posts will not show up using the "unread post" search link (when searching it will not look in those boards) however, ignored boards will still appear on the board index and upon entering will show which topics have new posts. When using the "unread replies" link, new posts in an ignored board will still be shown.

Buddies/Ignore List

Inside Buddies/Ignore List you have the abillity to

• Edit Buddies
• Edit your ignore list

Improving your forum account
^{Tips and tricks}

• 1. Changing your secret question (To enforce your account's safety, Write the answer down)
• 2. Enable to Show board descriptions inside boards.
• 3. Enable to Show child boards on every page inside boards, not just the first.
• 4. Enable to Return to topics after posting by default.
• 5. Enable to not warn on new replies made while posting.
• 6. Changing the Topics to display per page to 50
• 7. Changing the Messages to display per page to 50
• 8. Enable to Show a popup when you received new messages.
• 9. Enable to Save a copy of each personal message in my sent items by default.
• 10. Adding buddies so you can see who of your friends are online on the forum faster

For users with slower internet you can use the following to browse faster.

• 1. Enable to Not show users' avatars.
• 2. Enable to Not show users' signatures.
