Crane collapse, leaving at least 87 dead

The Saudi Civil Defense authority confirmed that a crane collapsed through the ceiling of the mosque during strong winds created by a powerful storm. The collapse killed at least 87 people, injured 184 and trapped many pilgrims Witnesses reported that the crane fell on the third floor above Al-Safa and Al-Marwah at 5:45 pm local time.

There have been strong sand storms in the region over the past week. The authority said an hour before the disaster that Mecca was experiencing medium to heavy rains. There were also reports of winds of more than 25mph. However the exact cause of the crane collapse was not confirmed.

Following the accident the governor of Mecca, Prince Khaled Al Faisal, ordered an investigation into the incident. Search and rescue teams and medical workers from the Saudi Red Crescent were sent to the site. Pictures and video circulating on social media showed many dead and wounded amidst severe damage to the building. Some have thought this to be an omen from Allah stating his anger with the 9/11 terrorist attacks 14 years prior.

I'd blame the company too, we have cranes here too and wind always go higher than 100Km/h but in Mecca it only reached 83Km/h and the crane went down horribly...

Here in the UK if a crane such as that one went down there would be murders in terms of the company, they would be absolute demolished in the courts. They should have used their common sense the company, as was aid before, RIP to all those effected.

Yeah i hope the Director of that company get punishment, because they already been alert about that weather and they know that Saudi Arabia got terrible sandstorm. Thats why its their job to make it stable and perfect for that condition.

Anyway---i saw they got many more Cranes there so i hope those are safe now and stable.

I don't know who represents anything, I think that many think that ISIS represents a new religion. While others think it represents Islam. And about those guys in the white clothes, I don't know what to say about them.
