I wasn't around during the flu outbreak due to real life issues, could there be a description on how it works, how it gets transmitted, if there's any signs of anyone having it and if there's a cure against it?

Upon first infection you will get the message "You begin to feel ill". You will randomly cough, sneeze and even bleed from the mouth in local chat. You will also periodically lose health. The infection is spread by going near a player who is infected already. Medics do have a cure for the flu.
