Perhaps your PC overheated whilst you were playing IV and that's why it shut off, maybe it corrupted something on the way out? Not really sure though...

Restarting PC & reinstalling IVMP did not solve it? Now that is weird. I think your IVMP settings.xml file got corrupted (and possibly not the only corrupted file)

Try uninstalling IVMP again and delete the following files / folders, path may vary depending on your Windows install:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\IVMP\ - delete the whole folder, including any files inside
C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\LaunchIVMP.exe - if for some reason it does not get deleted after its uninstall.

After this, try installing IVMP again. Rebooting between reinstalls and after install might be a good idea just to be completely "safe".

Also, I recommend you to run check your HDD / SSD for errors that may have happened with the forced shutdown.
Tutorial: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/disk-error-checking-windows-8

And last but not least, if your computer is shutting down randomly, like power going off (and not normal Windows shutdowns) then it most likely means something is wrong with your hardware. Might be a dying power supply, but could be anything else too, hardware troubleshooting is a pain in the ***.

CPU Overheats, It causes the Motherboard to shut down so it won't melt any CPU components.

I know the problem is fixed but i think you need to Reapply New Thermal Paste just in case :)
1 month ago i was messing around with my BIOS settings, Accidentally overclocked my Pentium 4 CPU
Then my PC restarts & it won't turn on! :neutral2: I was freaking out, 5 minutes later i was able to turn it on and get into the BIOS menu. The CPU gets overheated 100°C, causing the system to shutdown.
I've browsing around the internet "How to reset BIOS Settings" and managed to get it fixed 1 week later.

[LGA775 Motherboard] My 2 attempts : I didn't know that the heatsink is installed correctly :D
First attempt : Applied New Thermal Paste on the CPU (Temperature stucks at 80°C)
Second attempt : Reapplied the Thermal Paste (Still stuck @80°C)
Third attempt : Again, Reapplied the Thermal Paste, Having a look at the heatsink xD (Fixed! 40°C - 60°C)

Good luck. :D I've learned how to replace CPU too when i was reapplying that paste. lol

( Ignore my specs :bananarock: )

Nothing, or nothing you can see..
