The Birth

It was the year 1989. Two twin boys had been born at the All Saints General Hospital in Los Santos. In spite of the rough financial condition they were in, it was one of the happiest days for the immigrant family from Dorćol, who had only been living in Los Santos for a couple years. Being raised in the Downtown area of the city right under Mulholland Intersection, the two boys grew up amidst people of all sorts of different racial and economic backgrounds. From rich to poor, african american, white, asian, people who were natives or people who had come to Los Santos from all over the world looking for a better future could be found coming into the heart of the city every day.


Growing Up

Regardless of how hectic the environment they were growing up in had been the boys had a good upbringing. Their father who had started working as a waiter at a local restaurant and ultimately went on to manage it, and their mother who worked as a nurse at the County General Hospital in Jefferson succeed in instilling a solid work ethic and a sturdy moral compass in the boys. The other constant influence was the rest of their extended family who had also immigrated over the years. The atmosphere was as if they were still in the old country with all of the frequent visits and gatherings. The boys didn’t do very well in school but they were very street smart.


Mindset

While being raised to uphold a very high moral standard the surroundings still had a clear impact on them. Shootings and drug deals were an everyday occurrence in the area, and then you had the con men, stock traders dealing on insider information, corrupt policemen and politicians… The list just goes on and as they were growing up the boys soon realised their neighbourhood was brimming with crime, corruption, and bad intentions in general which were slowly but surely destroying the community. This is the time when our protagonists vowed to do everything in their power to bring those who are killing the city down from power.

The Beginning
As the boys were coming of age they had already mustered a good amount of like-minded friends. These were tough boys to whom life hadn’t been so kind. They knew what rough living was and they wanted to change that, but not at all costs, their main priority was maintaining their integrity and morals and never wronging an innocent. They wanted to be good people above all and along the way help their neighbourhood prosper by eliminating the bad influences. Brawls and gun fights with local and adjacent groups hadn’t been an uncommon occurrence and soon everyone had known about the Downtown Barabe.

The Evolution
With the passing of the owner of the restaurant the boys’ father worked at they were presented with an opportunity to acquire it, and so they did. Shortly thereafter the boys’ parents moved back to the old country since they had missed it ever since leaving and now felt they had accomplished what they set out to do. This is when the criminal organisation so far known as Downtown Barabe started to form a new shape. It was realised that small crime could only get you far enough, for bigger changes you needed bigger plays and a bigger, well-assembled organisation. So they set out to operate from the restaurant and build capital to further expand their grasp by procuring new businesses and bringing a more positive vibe to the once great Downtown Los Santos.

The Slaughter of the 7th Street Crips
Out of nowhere it appeared that a quasi organisation had formed in the Willowfield district. It was a collection of previously unknown fellows that would later meet an untimely demise. One day as a couple Barabe were waiting for their business associates at the Well Stacked Pizza in Idlewood a fight broke out after a brief altercation with a number of 7th members and as the cops started to respond to the scene Barabe quickly took off. Barabe, being the barabe that they are didn’t give too much importance to the event that had occurred and went on with their usual business. A couple days later one of the brothers was driving around DTLS and was run off the road by two 7th streeters, they had blown up his car but he managed to dip out just in time. He shot one of them on sight but the other managed to get away. Upon searching the body of the dead streeter it was clear who the threat was coming from and that a message must be sent, so he took the body to Glen park, massacred it and dumped the remains in the lake. With word of what had happened spreading thru Los Santos and the state rapidly the Willow-based gang took shelter and rallied allies, notably the Luciano family. A massive manhunt entailed as the boys scattered all over town running down leads and tracking the Crips. This lead to a great number of brawls, chases, kidnappings, assassinations and gunfights that disrupted the cities ecosystem and resulted in a petrifying number of 7th Street and Luciano casualties and the extinction of the Crip organisation.

Jovanca's Disappearance
As time had passed more and more people had been hearing about an expanding influence developing in the Downtown area, especially with the whole 7th Street ordeal raising a lot of dust. The boys had the misfortune of catching the attention of a well established drug cartel, at the time residing in a colossal villa in Temple. The so called Diaz cartel did not appreciate someone interfering with their drug trade and instilling fearful respect in the city. They decided to take action. Upon gathering enough information about the brothers, the cartel finally struck. With the brothers not expecting anything of the sort they were caught off guard, Djole managed to some how escape with Big J's help however Jovanca had been wounded and taken. Very little is known of his fate and the organisation of the attack, only very limited intel that had been found on the cartel members' phones. After getting away safely and hiding out in a distant cabin, Djole and Big J sought Jay Araatus' help. The trio raided the cartel compound and eliminated all of the enemy forces they'd come across. A rather large stash of money and drugs was found and seized which would later help to develop the organisation and fund the search for Jovanca. Following these events the boys went back to Jovanca's bar and indulged in a night of drinking, remembering Jovanca and discussing plans for the future.
