In other words with RS5.2 Argonath changes it's status from light rp server to heavy?

No, this announcement didn't imply that either.

Teddy simply said that Argonath RPG is a roleplay server. Yet people have been treating as a freeroam/CnR server for the past few years, we're shifting the server away from that.
The players however, who do not treat this as a roleplay server will have to change lest we have to drive it; which comes with a loss for both sides.

All in all, RS5.2 should be an incentive for you all to give back. The team has given you a garden treated with love, do not trample on its flowers with your sickening manslaughter for false respects.

(Had to vent out a little bit.)

Alright... now let's only hope RS5.2 increase the playerbase.

To be fair RS4 was almost a freeroam server with roleplay capabilities. There was no incentive to roleplay, people who actually did roleplay were praised because it was so abnormal.

But who could blame them? There was nothing other to do than the American dream, get a car, get a house, have money, possibly join a group that you can be friends with and you were done, from there on you were just acultivating money until you got bored.

I'm glad people are role-playing, it feels refreshing walking to a person, taking out a knife and them react to it with roleplay not pulling out a SPAS. I have no idea what happened in the past 2 years that changed the community but I'm glad it did, and to whoever motivated it, thank you.

I can't see the player base growing significantly, certainly not on the SA:MP server.

The game was released in 2005 on the PC, so the PC release is getting on for 11 years old. No offence to VC:MP players, but we've all seen how much less activity that server has now than previously.

I was speaking to a 14 year old the other day who came in on work experience, he referred to San Andreas as the "old" GTA with "pixelated" graphics. A lot of our new players (whether we officially recognise it or not) were youngsters in their early teens, I joined when I was 14, I many know others that joined when they were younger. SA:MP simply isn't attracting the attention of young people like it's more modern counterparts.

People who were attracted to SA:MP are getting older. Those people over 18 who played are getting to the point where they have serious families, real responsibilities. Those of us who played in their early teens are growing up, found new excitements, whether it be cars, football, motorbikes, better games, females... etc

The best chance in my opinion would be to try and retain the players you have, whenever you restructure a server and its scripts you rely on the existing players being pleased and the new players finding it entertaining. RS5 did not work. Existing players (I concede, for often selfish reasons) were annoyed and left, and we were too late on the curve to attract replacements.

There is always something to do, you just have to discover, create, or find it.
Roleplay is based on this: It's the result of two or more individuals interacting with each other, both playing the roles they want to be and displaying this in their own unique fashion.

It's been the same argument elsewhere, but I am glad to see it's improving too, despite that the negative influences are still on the surface, a glimmer of hope shines inbetween.

No. If you would use your reading skills you'd notice I said we're not a freeroam server. That's a hell of a leap to a heavy one.

Edit: Removed own comment.

Salt and hate won't take us anywhere.
And we do not try to be real life, as why would you ever play real life if you have one ? We play the GTA universe, and our players should try to live in the GTA world, not the real one.
