I personally like XP better than vista. The other day, one of my friends wanted me to set up a shoutcast server for him. I got there and realized he had vista. I got it all set up but it took me an extra half hour because of the "Allow or Deny?" popups and the settings you had to go around. Plus, he probably had around 65 processes running

That was the first thing I disabled when I got Vista, you don't need UAC.

My ram usage is usually between 1.5GB and 2GB (I have 4GB) so I'm not sure if 2GB is enough, but the GPU and HD are good enough for Vista. What CPU do you have?

Mine runs great on dual 2.5 so I'm assuming dual 2.4 should be enough.

I will just stay at Linux...
Then you don't get shit like this. And far more stable and secure. No need for anti-virus or other things.

But when you need Windows, I stay at Windows XP. Vista isn't ready for games, however, soon over an few years later, we will still need it, because then there are Windows Vista only games.

But at least those games will be fully vista compatible

vista - 30 seconds to load

XP - 30 minutes to load

probably because of the machines but i dont care. If GTA works on vista then i'm happy with it

I'm not even angry
i'm being so sincere right now
even though you broke my heart and killed me.

I've only ever experienced a computer running on a single core processor. :( I've been on dual cores in the shops but my laptop has a single core Intel Centrino and this computer just has an Intel Pentium 4. I'm not sure if you call them single cores but you get the picture.

Vista works fine on my computer!

No lags, havent got a weird error yet (except closing sa:mp you get all those errors, but thats not vista error)... it all works fine!

Sometimes it says I cannot do something, so I run as administartor mode! Guess what... it works then! woo

XP - Use it on old - mid computers ( 2gb ram, less.. duo 2.4ghz, less.. video card 256mb or less)

VISTA - Use it on new computers ( 4gb ram, or higher duo 3ghz, or higher... videocard 512mb or higher)

It will just work fine!

NOTE: If you buy a computer with vista already installed on it, reinstall it! it will make a clean install and your vista will work without problems!

I use:

8gb RAM ( 4gb would be enough )

quad core 2.4ghz

9800gtx+

vista 64bit with SP1

NO PROBLEMS!!!

There is nothing wrong with vista, buy it when you buy a good system, you will notice it works perfectly!

EDIT:

all games so far work! I installed a 6 years old game and it just works... I dont see the problem  :)

I bet Star Wars Supremacy from 1998 would not work :).

I have an Alienware, and paid extra for XP. I just didn't want the ridiculous hassle of Vista. Plus, on a side note, XP looks better.
