There were any good reason why the Rust server were shut down? No information can be found really on the forums here.

Did Argonath give up on another shot on Rust?
There is an upcoming big patch for Rust that should be pretty damn neat, and the possibilities there are quite endless.

The XP-system is coming out on this Thursday, it will be quite a game changer.

I believe it was closed due nobody playing on it, I was watching the player base on the server now and then and it was mostly zero players on it. It lacked management too, as Rust requires to be updated each week(since rust patches comes out weekly, even if they are broken) which ArgoRust missed to do a few times and therefore losing all the players. I'm playing a lot of Rust. Rust is not the game you want to invest if you believe in roleplay, it's a cruel game that are based on killing and survive, we play on a server with almost no rules except for a few that are essential for the community.

I personally would sadly not play on a Argonath-based Rust server and I got a good reason which I will not share. However, I rather see Argonath go for other games, like Life is Feudal or more team oriented / society created games.

We will be launching a server for Ark: Survival Evolved later today or tomorrow, we will of course keep an eye on the development of a new Mafia 2 Multiplayer mod currently in private testing. As soon as it becomes available to us, we will jump on that opportunity.

I also have a private Garry's mod server I will modify a bit for Argonath's use, it has The Hunted running for now; we can switch from time to time based on interest. The Hunted is a really fun gamemode, check out SeaSanner's videos for some great gameplay.

I will also begin investigating Life is Feudal and determine if we have enough resources afterwards to support this as well.

I am not entirely sure the validation specifications on either of the clients. I believe with gmod, you do need a legitimate client since we do use valve's anti-cheat. Our Ark server is also secured with Valve's anti-cheat so this is probably the same case.

We will not put up any server that would put a legal target on us. Given Take Two's stance on custom multiplayer modifications, we will not put up a server.

Sometimes you have to split to move forwards. SA:MP is old, IV:MP is getting outdated, V:MP is getting nowhere fast due to legal issues. In order to grow the community and maintain a level of activity it's inevitable that you need to move forward to new platforms. Some will die, some will stick, but with a bit of luck, as older platforms lose popularity, the player base gradually moves onto a later one. That's provided that the players in the aforementioned server are playing for the community, and not for the specific game!

I would actually like to see Just Cause 2 for a RP server. I did try one and it was alot of fun.
