Chapter 6-5: Frontier Horizon
Time. The most relentless of all. It continued moving forwards, without
V at the proverbial helm.
Duke had kept operations running smoothly, as Guardian
Angels would do. Without
V around, there were some believers started doubting again. The
Angels grew larger, and stronger in the power void created.
Lucy from
LCL Logistics, had opened her own Gem Exchange as well, being based in Los Santos and able to fetch premiums in the higher end area. She had the connections, that opened doors. She was a dreamer, though. The kind that could create realities. There were floor plans for constructing a
go-kart track, and a
garage, just to name a few projects for the
Willowfield Industrial Parks (
Or so aptly named, WIPs).
The
Nomad Gem Exchange had fewer and fewer merchants. Despite this, the core of the beating heart kept strong, and the money kept flowing. Most of the returning sellers were
LawDogs, but their money was good. Stockpiling had continued as scheduled.
Across the Martin Bridge in
Blueberry,
Akriantis Coronis glanced around suspiciously as the car rolled into the dirt parking lot of the
Horizon Defense & Security Solutions training complex. Glancing on the back of a schematic, he looked at the address scrawled casually.
This is the right place... he muttered to himself as he continued counting the cameras. Leaving the engine running, and the door wide open as he stepped out, he set his pace to brisk towards the military figure by the
Patriot garage.
Afternoon! You must be the Doc! **General** Bas Corleone called as he wiped the engine grease on his hands onto a rag.
Yes, yes, yes..Akriantis. That's me. Inside we go, he hurriedly gestured towards the complex.
They could be watching... he said lower as he continued to glance around.
They went inside, where the odd doc continued to shift around the empty complex.
The projects we work on depend on the contracts we get, the
General explained.
Nodding,
Akri offered a schematic; one of implants of cybernetic eyes.
After a lengthy onboarding,
`\Colonel/` Bruce McCain had arrived with the keys to access the lab.
So, if you want m4's with exploding rounds, sure, we can do that. Or if you want to launch explosive bowling balls. If that's your sorta thing, not saying it is, but as long as it explodes we're good. he breathlessly rambled on.
Or exploding bees! he quietly exclaimed while glancing around the room.
Right, bees. So, here's the keys, go get your equipment, Bruce reminded him and hurried him out the door.
Akriantis looked at the empty parking spot.
I drove here, right? he asked back to the two commandos.
Hmm, nevermind, I'll just bring a truck, with a trailer, that'll have all my equipment, and the stuff for working.... his voice trailed off as he wandered out of the parking lot on foot leaving the two left giving each other glances.
And indeed, to his word, he would. Later that day he brought a truck, with a trailer.
