INTRODUCTION

San Andreas County Fire Department and Emergency Services born to provide a proper attention to all county areas, all along the aid provided by the brand new SASD. SACoFD-EMS role is to react faster and properly to all county areas needs, such as brush fire, USAR along with the city fire dept. (SAFD). Providing BLS/ALS to victim and maintain our enviroment intact. Our main role is to provide an enriched RP quality regarding Fire and Medical sectors, thanks to a skilled Staff that comes from Months and months of training, all while providing aid to all other Emergency Services and LEA. Many people that are nowadays on our department are Veteran that served in our city "Brother" fire department (SAFD).

Our Fire Department due to his dimension is divided into an only one category, that is "COMPANY".

Company- This is the basic unit. This is made up of a single piece of apparatus and it’s crew. The company can be supervised by an officer. This is usually a Captain or Lieutenant. This is not always the case. Sometimes there is not an officer on the apparatus. A common example of this would be an MICU. MICU’s are often staffed with two drivers or a driver and a firefighter.


Our department is similar to our city "brother" regarding rank structure, vehicles and uniforms, we got:

PROBATIONARY FIREFIGHTER - The primary responsibility of a Probationary or Rookie Firefighter is to learn how to be a firefighter and they are both mentored and closely inspected by other senior firefighters and the officers. Probationary firefighters can be full operating firefighters, responding to calls, entering buildings and so on. Alternatively, they can be firefighters who do not perform interior operations, as is the case with most volunteer departments. In fact, PFFs are often given the menial jobs that few want to do, such as station cleanup, salvage operations, and fetching equipment


FIREFIGHTER - Those who will pass Training and related test will be promoted to Firefighter, that mean that you'll represent the department, this role is the first "official" rank inside our dept.


DRIVER/ENGINEER - Also known as “Engineer”, “Chauffeur”, “Fire Equipment Operator” (FEO) and other terms. this is the person who drives the vehicle and operates the pump or aerial. He is a specialist who knows everything about that piece of apparatus.


SERGEANT - This is the person who leads a company when no Lieutenants,Captains,Majors,Battalion Chiefs are available. He's appointed from the Deputy Chief after a vote with all other Command Staff, He's responsible for training Probationary Firefighters (if needed),Supervisie work shift and, obviusly, being an example to follow for all other FFs, This is a special rank, and it requires a lot of dedication and hard work.


LIEUTENANT - This is usually the officer over a single company. Depending upon the situation he may be on an engine, truck, rescue company or whatever. He's a junior member of the COMMAND STAFF.


CAPTAIN - This officer commands a single company but also is the ranking officer at a station that may have several companies. He may have one or more lieutenants working at the station with him. This officer is often the initial command at emergencies and can be called upon to fill in for the Battalion Chief during his or her absence. A captain may also be over a special section or function. Examples are: Dispatch, Training, EMS etc.

PLATOON CHIEF - Head of ALL COMMAND STAFF when DEPUTY CHIEF is not available, he/she is responsible of leading all the command staff when  the DEPUTY CHIEF is not available, he/she is responsible of training both Command and NON-Command staff, Dispatching, Taking Incident Command and so on.


DEPUTY CHIEF - She/He's responsible for leading whole SACoFD-EMS, She/he's the head of all COMMAND STAFF and along with all his STAFF act to maintain department efficient and county areas safe. She/He ìs the through regarding all other Emergency Agencies and Law Enforcement Agencies.

Might I suggest you take this up with a community leader or the ARFD themselves and avoid posting such an inflammatory/controversial post in a new group's topic

Love the incentive to get an active FD and EMS group going again, maybe some of these guys are right, start talking to Community Leaders, Devin and others to plead a case to get someone else placed in charge of ARFD if it is that bad. The only thing creating a group like this is going to do is piss off SugarD who hoards the forums looking for a reason to get into a pissing match with anyone who challenges his FD.. I don't see this being any different of a story unfortunately.
