thats relative...If you're speaking in terms of being played, then yes, it will, not only untill GTA4 release but also a little further.
But in terms of development, SAMP is as dead as MTA:VC.

Guys betatesters are not just some kids that are running around and shooting each other checking if server is good...
In game industry betatesters should always write reports on tests they did... And none will push them "go check this command or that command"... Did not do? Bye from testers... Betatesters in Rockstar for example should know perfect the Access and Excel to make the reports themselves... I hardly think SA:MP are really serious to their betatesters and all they check - it is server stability (with 6-10 testers) and some functions...
As for RPG mode - do not think they will write the RPG script and check out the problems (happened to us when we tried to release the new scripts and found out totally bugged car system and features)...
As for betatesters - they will pick up those whom they know - it means they sit on IRC channel all days and blah blah with SAMP developers... To get in the team needs some "special attitude"...
I hope its clear which one... In other words, they will pick up those who is talking a lot then those who are really professionals in it and know in which direction to test...

some of the new beta testers for sa:mp were chosen from people who are running good active servers, 3 of them maybe. some others were invited to be beta testers because they either are on irc a lot, or are dev-clan members and smart. NoV FTW

There is... SA:MP is also not paid, but they run multiplayer... Maybe they should stop run it cos it is not paid?
If they are with the same philosophy as you then they will always have a shitty testers...

Incorrect...
If they run good active servers, that does not mean they will be chosen... Cos in Betatest team are chose those whom developers know (IRC)... Not whom they are "watching"... And that is the problem...
I am telling it with sure cos the old versions of SAMP were more stable and had no problems almost... As soon as they started giving ranks of testers on the left and on the right, SAMP versions were going less stable and playable even...

I dunno who are there betatesters but as I saw from posts - all from Deathmatch servers... So what do you expect from SAMP in RPG direction then? Again buggy cars, pickups and streamers - right what deathmatchers do not use...
And will not test...

They have a good scripter DracoBlue... So they could just do not hurry with releases but give him a time to make some small RPG scripts and test out how it behaves and affects on servers...

Not just "Whoa we released!" and after two weeks with the new RPG modes "oups cars are buggy, oups pickups are causing crashes, oups, oups, oups"...
For me better without turning head animation and without hiding nicks behind walls then a buggy program that cannot handle a good RPG mode script systems...

I Absolutely agree with you Aragorn.There should be more attention turned to the RPG...not just DM and Stunts and that kinda bull**** !Those Betatesters who are from "Famous" Death Match servers totally suck!I really hate them all!And they are stealing like ...
  Once i created a normal DM script (nothing special) and released it on the internet.After about 3 days i saw a guy who made his server(and there was no way he scripted on his own).I checked it out and i saw those are MY scripts,but only renamed by him.I was very disappointed.
    So once again,i thing skilled RPG Developers and Players should be in the Development/Betatesting team of SA:MP!
