A quickie introduction story to Leon Gvardia I whipped up some time ago.
Introduction
Leon was born and raised in Queens, San Fierro by Indica (Italian) and Cofiliano (Serbian/Russian) Gvardia. He's a smart and cunning fellow, one who could always think his way through the toughest dilemmas. With the family's wealth accumulated over the years he was able to receive higher education. As a child he had always heard talk of the Syndicate - Gvardia Corporation's muscle - but was protected from any inside information by his father. Despite his ignorance, Leon had always longed to be a part of the Syndicate and to contribute to his family. When he was deemed ready by his father he was initiated into the Syndicate, where his cunning and ambition allowed him to rapidly rise through the ranks until he eventually became the Syndicate's first ever Underboss to have earned the rank. Over time however, indifference, depression, sadism, and drug use consumed him, diminishing his ability to fully contribute to Gvardia and eventually resulting in his demotion. The affliction continues to this very day.
The Butcher
Leon was barely 16 when the Corleones stormed the Gvardia Family Residence in the dead of the night.
"Go, go, go!" Rapid footsteps sounded in the hall outside the door and on the floors above. Weapons could be heard locking and loading. The door to Leon's room opened, and a guard with body armor poked his head in the room. He called to Leon demandingly.
"Oi! Get up! We have intruders!" Leon jolted out of the haze of sleepiness and onto his feet.
Leon immediately knew what to do; the Don has a number of competitors who would love to have his son's head, or perhaps hold him for ransom - so a number of drills have been set in place in the event of an intrusion. The guard walked into the room and took his body armor off, helping to fasten it on Leon.
"You know the knock sequence. If that door opens without you hearing it, you shoot, understand?" The guard finished fastening the body armor onto Leon. Leon simply nodded, and the guard rushed out the door, closing it behind him.
Leon hid behind his bed out of sight of anybody who entered and reached under for his gun's lockbox, unlocking it and holding fast to his 9mm pistol, waiting patiently for the crisis to come to an end. Soon enough, the sound of windows being shattered and doors being broken in were followed by a barrage of gunshots and quick footsteps. The skirmish had begun.
As the gunshots began to settle, footsteps sounded from outside of the bedroom door. Leon peaked over the height of his bed and aimed down his sights, anticipating the worst. The footsteps turned into a struggle, and suddenly, the bedroom door was broken down. An unfamiliar man laid on top of the broken door with Leon's father, Cofiliano, standing over him, red faced with fury.
"Dabogda te majka kukom po Neretvi trazila!" he shouted, before delivering a well-wound kick to the man's face. The man writhed helplessly in pain on top of the door.
"Leon, take care of this asshole..." Cofiliano pulled a stiletto from his pants pocket, unsheathing the blade, and tossed it onto Leon's bed. Cofiliano nodded to his son reassuringly before sauntering out of the room. Leon rose to his feet and took the knife from the bed.
Many minutes later, the intruder was found by a guard in a pool of his own blood, with multiple stab wounds in the chest with the knife left lodged under his jaw. Leon sat blankly upon his bed with his knees held close to his chest and his hands covered in blood, staring blankly into space.
"He begged me for his life, with tears in his eyes," he said to the guard as he recalled the event. Little emotion was conveyed through his words. "To watch the life slip from the bastard's eyes as he bled-..." Leon drifted into silence as he lifted his empty gaze to the guard.
"No mercy for those who oppose Gvardia, I suppose," the guard mumbled to himself as he observed the scene Leon had left behind.
From that moment on, Leon developed an insatiable thirst for blood and cruel sadistic tendencies. Unusual habits include saving "souvenirs" of parts of his victims' bodies and experimenting with torture methods, often of a highly pervasive nature. He is currently not seeing a psychologist.
