A few minutes ago me and *Deleted, requested*were chatting on the ivmp skype chat and we came up with an idea.
So as you can see from the title its a votekick option.
Every now and then i can see a message saying "Admin in game please spammer,abuser...." etc.
That could be fixed.
Votekick would implement a simple /votekick [id] [reason]
and than other players could type in "/votekick yes" or /votekick no" these are just ideas ofcourse.
This command would only be available when no admins online, however only trusted members "COL" trusted members" can vote kick not some random players using it.
If You are afraid of the command beeing abused you could always make it so only people with some time on the server could initiate the command. or something similar.

Instead of the server getting screwed everyday  by rulebreakers accept more admins from different timezones not the same timezones, Canada or American timezone.

I know i'm not a part of IV:MP and I don't really play it but to be honest, having a votekick command on a GTA server looks stupid. It would fit more on CoD of BF type of games...idk in GTA looks kinda weird.

adding option for a group of players to gang up on someone is not a good idea in any case, not supported.

This can be abused so easily, even with your suggestions. Leave it to the administrators, they have the job to secure the server.

How can it be abused? 10 rulebreakers will /votekick and kick good guy? If we will tune this option it will be good thing. I dont believe it can be really abused. If rulebreakers come ot it  is 1-2 rulebrekers online. If you still think it can be abused, then allow it at least to COL staff or to loyal players. Though knowing Genovese they really can abuse it. Yesterday server was full and thereb were 2 rulebrekers and no admins. It must to be a bit improven. For example turn off option when there are admins online, allow it to col stuff  or to citizens only. Kick when there are 10+ votes(just an example), we will need update rules according to this command and create serious punishments for abusing. If you will think about this idea deeper it will be good solution of many problems.

It is right that it may be useful, but It is not a good idea to give power to untrusted members.
It is simply like other games, it will be abused. Most of the players will abuse it.
It will also cause some other problems, it will start the hate between players. If the kicked player was kicked wrongfully, he will come back and goes on an insult-spree over everyone who tried to kick him. This will get things only worse.

It's not coppied from other communities.. It came up during a chat in skype, just an idea.

I'm going to stir the pot a bit and see what you guys thing of an adaptation of this suggestion.

What if the cmd was given to high ranked LCPD and FBI members? Voting would be initiated by them and the rest of the server can vote. Voting would only be allowed when there are no admins online. Also it could be made so that only players with no passport could be votekicked.

Pro's

• Server has more hours of protection against rulebreakers
• Rulebreakers will be kicked on behalf of the players in the server

Cons

• Newcomers could get kicked without proper guidance of the server
• Someone could abuse the command to kick someone they dislike/or for an invalid reason
• The server can gang up on a person for invalid reasons

Though I must admit, it's highly unlikely that this command will ever go through in ivmp, I think it's worth discussing it.

Why high ranked lcpd and fbi only? Gosh...hire some moderators, teach them how to do their job and problem partially solved, because timezone can really be an issue for most of people.
Ain't no /votekick going to be a good idea, you teach the rulebreaker, you only kick/ban him when he is being an annoyance for all the players with his behaviour.

Not really, the main problem issued by players is the fact that there aren't admins present when rulebreakers are on, so this is a 100% true problem since long, i can see alot of inactive admins got kicked or left but still, you should try to cover the timezones with enough admins/moderators before considering the implementation of such command.

I can just apply and get a high rank in lcpd or fbi and act like if i'm responsible enough to kick someone who is breaking the rules but actually i'm just a player like others, the only difference is that i'm being given a power that i should not have. Leave the kick option to moderators and admins, there is no need for "experienced law enforcers or regulars" to handle administrative punishments, so i agree with you with not implementing this whole thing.
