Suggestion to enable changing of display names

I think it would be pretty cool if everyone on the forum were able to change their display name(not username) whenever they wanted, a good example of this is the SA-MP forum, if you register there or are registered already there you'll find that you can change your name whenever you want, i think this would be a great feature and a lot of people would appreciate it. I know argonath like to be unique in all things and do not like to 'copy' anyone but i don't think this would be seen as copying as i'm sure a lot of forums have it and it is a SMF feature.

Anyway let me now what you think and maybe if enough think it's a good idea it might be implimented

It would be, but it would confuse some people sometimes.

Like, gandalf changename to Stacy, then you have Stacy come and ban you and like WTF!? WHO IS STACY!? :p

How about

We can change Display names.. but.. the title.. that is under the Display name.. Changes to The Displayname Before change

I dont think main admins would change their names... also there is a 'see the last osts of this person' of you were really confused who the person was you could check his last posts and it would be easy to tell..

Well, I don't know if it's possible, but one name change every 3 months and a history of names changes would be pretty good...

It works fine on the sa:mp forums, why not at least say, put it on a month trial, and if it doesnt work out, take it off, and remove it if it gets abused.

Well i love the idea, but people in the server are always changing names and i dotn know who they are so it wouldn't make any change

It's a bad idea, one of my guitar forums used to have that, now it doesn't... and my name there is stuck as... "pretty_pinkdangerous_noah"...

now talking seriouly, what i advise you to do is to write the name you use ingame or the one you would like people to call you under the forum username. that what i do and everyone know that [NS]PiMP = PMP
