“Ash to ash, dust to dust, bloods I trust;
Crabs we bust, kill a crab, win a prize;
Kill a blood your whole family dies.”

Bloods History
The Bloods gang was formed initially to compete against the influence of the Crips in Los Santos. The rivalry dates back to the 1960s when several Crips beat up Sylvester Scott and Benson Owens. In response to the attack, Scott, who lived in Los Santos established the Piru street-gang, the first "Bloods" street gang. Owens established the West Piru street-gang. The Bloods street-gang was initially formed to provide members protection from the Crips. Many of the non-Crip street-gangs used to call one another "blood". On March 21, 1972, shortly after a concert featuring Wilson Pickett and Curtis Mayfield, twenty youths belonging to the Crips attacked and robbed Robert Ballou Jr. outside of Hollywood Palladium. Ballou was beaten to death after he refused to give up his leather jacket. The sensational media coverage of the crime and the continued assaults by the Crips increased their notoriety. Several non-Crips gangs formed during this period were no match for the Crips and they became concerned with the escalating Crip attacks. The Pirus and other gangs not aligned with the Crips often clashed with the Crips. On June 5, 1972, three months after Ballou's murder, Fredrick "Lil Country" Garret was murdered by a Westside Crip. This marked the first Crips murder against another gang member and motivated non-Crip street-gangs to align with each other. The Bloods struck back on August 4, 1972, by murdering Thomas Ellis, an original Westside Crip. By late 1972, the Pirus held a meeting in their neighborhood to discuss growing Crips pressure and intimidation. Several gangs that felt victimized by the Crips joined the Piru Street Boys to create a new federation of non-Crips neighborhoods. This alliance would transform into the "Bloods". The Pirus are therefore considered to be the original founders of the Bloods. By 1978, there were 15 Bloods sets. Crips still outnumbered Bloods 3 to 1. In order to assert their power, the Bloods became increasingly violent. During the 1980s, Bloods began distributing crack **** in Los Santos. Blood membership soon rose dramatically as did the number of states in which they were present. These increases were primarily driven by profits from crack **** distribution. The huge profits allowed members to relocate in other cities and states.
United Blood Nation
Omar “O.G Mack” Portee and his fellow inmate Leonard “Dead Eye” McKenzie established the United Blood Nation while being in prison. At that point the Mexican’s had the prison under their command. And they were often going around bullying the Afro-American’s. Omar and Leonard succeeded uniting the Afro-American’s and formed a such called gang United Blood Nation. They were no longer bullied by the Mexican’s, actually the opposite thing started. At that point Omar had the prison under his control. Bloods from the outside started hearing the stuff that happened in the prision, they wanted the same dream as Omar, to unite all Bloods. Which this gang was initially formed to counter the Crips, so people that didn’t like Crips also joined UBN. Omar was involved uniting all the Bloods gangs into one so called United Blood Nation. Bloods number was getting bigger and bigger, at the point Omar got out of prison the United Blood Nation already became huge. We can say that Omar was the brain behind the gang. He planned everything out, he formed the UBN. As soon as he got out, he knew all the members and he would walk around with a camera and ask people who they be. And when they’ve would answered him, he would know if they are members or not. The recruiting didn’t stopped here, there were more and more Bloods on the streets. Shootouts between the Crips and Bloods never stopped, they were like everyday routine, even if there was a deal between the gangs to stop the war, it didn’t last long. Members of this gang are known for burning three circles in a triangular shape on their upper right arm or right hand to show affiliation to it. Some members would tattoo a bulldog's face on their right hand, letters M.O.B to identify themselves from outsiders also. The current blocks that the gang controls are in Playa Del Seville and East Willow Field.
