I have been receiving many complaints about players harvesting in front of cops. I have heard everything from it being copbaiting to trolling to non-RP. It was suggested by some to make it impossible to /harvest when cops are within range via scripts, I don't think this is the proper solution however.
I decided to see for myself and have been checking the grow locations as a freecop, and as undercover FBI. What I have seen is ridiculously stupid lack of RP from some guys who are so desperate to get that /harvest without any regard to the roleplay and without any regard for their own life. Today a guy ran in circles around the plant spamming /harvest while being shot at by police, the timer finally reset and he was able to /harvest and run to a vehicle.
The problem I see is that currently the risk to reward ratio is unbalanced. Once /harvest is successfully used then the risk is over and whatever happens next becomes irrelevant. There is not enough risk in harvesting in front of cops so why not do it?
My suggestion is to add some risk to that decision to hopefully prevent it from happening so much. My suggestion is as follows:
If a player is suspected within 10 seconds of harvesting OR harvests while already a suspect then:
a) The player will lose 20 cannabis if surrendered to police.
b) The player will lose 40 cannabis if killed by police.
c) the player will lose nothing if they successfully evade the police.
(note: 1 seed = 20 cannabis)
If we look at this in realistic terms, a suspect who recently harvested a plant who is caught by police would obviously have those drugs confiscated/seized from them.
And before you go shouting about me being an FBI member, I have denied several suggestions that would help law enforcers and have recommended some that would help criminals. I think this is more of an issue of eliminating some trolling and non-RP and less about helping cops and hurting criminals. The smart criminals will only grow and harvest when its safe anyways, and the smart ones just leave and don't bother harvesting when cops are around.
That is all, please leave your opinions on this as I would like the public's opinion as well.
