I'm thinking of purchasing the game but I keep checking on the internet, everyone's hating on it especially after the recent update, is the game still badly optimized and unplayable with the lags and stuff?
Would appreciate some intels about it.

Not really, the game is getting improved constantly after each update, a lot of features have been added...

Wouldn't say it's unplayable. I have over 100+fps always on my setup and the lags are like 1 min-ish if you jump places where there is a lot of other players that jump, like military or school on Erangel. Otherwise I haven't really had any issues with the game.
