Poland, being one of the countries affected by the cancer known as communism since World War II, was a very different place compared to most European countries. Citizens were frustrated with how things were. There was no progress in the country whatsoever. There was no unemployment but the stores' shelves were always empty. According to the communistic ideology 'everyone was of same importance'. Except that’s not how things worked in the real world, everyone was hungry for success and materialistic matters.   Perhaps this is where the underground criminal world of Poland came into play – in order to buy any foreign product, dollars were needed, which were supplied illegally by traders roaming the less populated area of various cities. Given the fact obtaining even the most basic necessities had to involve some kind of crime or fraud, it is not hard to realize Polish criminals were successful and always had something to do. There were strikes against the communistic government, curfew hours, and eventually even martial law. All of these occurrences only helped the Polish organized crime, giving them enough distraction to run their activities smoothly in the criminal underworld.   The criminal organizations evolved over the years, and whilst most of them started as simple car thieves or muggers, it quickly turned into large-scale white collar crime. Polish mobsters at top of the ladder had the smarts to infiltrate the government officials without a problem, which is what makes them very different from say, American organizations, who were known for being loud and flashy.   Some of the organizations in the middle of said ladder realized that instead of wasting their time on rivalry with the biggest gangs, they could be making a more profitable living abroad instead. Many Polish gangs and mobs emigrated, mostly to the US during the late 80s and early 90s. Which brings us to now.   The Prushkov Mob, earning its name from location it was operating in, moved their business to Los Santos in the USA. It was with perfect timing. The Soviets were finally leaving Poland, ending one of the most profitable activities they participated in - illegal weapons trafficking. The public started noticing the mobs’ wrongdoings as the whole fight-with-the-system distraction fell. The gangs were bloodthirsty, killing each other over leaderships, sparking lots of unneeded attention, and causing police crackdowns on most reckless organizations.   Prushkov's members specialized in your typical middle-ladder criminal activities such as robberies, burglaries, gambling frauds, weapon and narcotics trafficking – working together with the Albanian and Italian mobs hand-in-hand. They quickly became popular as they didn't mind any kind of wet work. When the Italians didn’t want to stain their hands, they’d hire a few Poles and Albanians. Wearing cheap tracksuits, driving German cars and barely speaking English, the Polish gangsters were easily recognizable by the police, but usually ignored due to their ruthlessness and obvious language barrier.
