Try this steps, and yes.. it'll make your Windows looks like Windows XP with more performance.Before:

Right Click on My Computer > Click Properties

Click Advanced system settings

Click Performance > Click Settings

Go to Advanced tab > Adjust for best performance of: Programs > Click Change

Uncheck Automatically manage paging file size for all drives (Don't change this if you have enough ram (4GB+))
Match the Settings to below > Click OK

Bring on Start Menu > Type battery > Click Change power-saving settings

Click High performance > Click Change plan settings (This affects on PC users as well, not just Laptop users)

Turn off display: Never > Put the computer to sleep: Never > Click Change advanced power savings

Hard disk > Turn off hard disk after > Setting: Never (Set to 0)
Wireless Adapter Settings > Power Saving Mode > Setting: Maximum Performance

PCI Express > Link State Power Management > Setting: Off

Processor power management > Minimum processor state > Setting: 100 (This would cause your laptop to heat all the time, so get a cooling fan first)
System cooling policy > Setting: Active
Maximum processor state > Setting: 100
Display > Turn display off after > Setting: Never (Set to 0)
Click OK

Click Save changes

Bring on Start Menu > Type performance > Click Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows

Click Custom > Check Show thumbnails instead of icons > Click OK
