Due to the excess of the recent events with this downtime, is this a turning point in the community infrastructure where changes in security and other areas of the server are to take place or should we expect to continue having this sort of thing come up?

It feels like we have either
        a) Host issues
        b) Security issues
        c) *or* a mixture of multiple various entities coming to play

Like Gandalf said we changed our host. The design of the current infrastructure is unknown for now since we don't have any access to it like we said.

Either way, we as a community, with such diversity, should be able to clearly have an idea of what we are facing.  I do not believe the details of HOW but rather WHAT we are doing to prevent its reoccurrence.

*What was breached?

ONLY the accounts that didn't change the password to the new system. There was NO database or VM breach.

*What is being done to counteract further breaches

We are under discussion but 2FA is one method for sure. Right now we will probably not allow users that didn't change their passwords yet to enter the server and change it. They should go towards a Server HQ member and request a new password after some background check. Like I said this is under discussion.

*What do we as a community need to concern with? eg. passwords; community emails; etc

Nothing.

The breach has been halted. The unique thing they were able to do is paydays.

Everyone need to understand that no passwords were decrypted!

Only question I have left, you mention that the system was not breached. By this you mean that no NEW system did not get breached, correct? The old host, at one point, was breached? Just trying to get clarification.

Correct. Everyone that updated his/her password didn't get breached, at least as far as we know.

No, the host was not breached. In the past they breached a community leader account so they had a long command list to use.
