I am actually glad and happy that the helper position is the way to become a moderator. Joining the staff is about helping others, and with the helper rank you learn to do exactly that. You have the staff team guide you and explain to you whatever is unclear, and if the HQ feels like the helper has learned and advanced and is ready to be given such rights, then good. I'd rather see people undergo a certain program then simply be given moderator rights and it has worked very well until now. Survival of the fittest.
