I know I sound like butthurt right now, but the thing is I kind of am.

Once a criminal gets on a PCJ, it's virtually impossible for the PD to catch him unless he's a shit driver. Even a police maverick can't keep up with a PCJ while in a direct chase. That's because of the possibility to bug it's speed by raping Numpad 9 (an issue that plagues all III era games) and it seems to be allowed by the server rules.

I think it would be fair if cops are either allowed to deploy seasparrow against bike suspects or the ability to bike-bug is somehow disabled.

Wow Huntsman, this is just.. embarrassing. Even Kessu would agree with me right now.

Firstly, leaning on a bike is not a "bug". What on earth gave you that idea I don't know. Forward leaning to increase speed was an intentional feature, as well as leaning backwards to lift the front wheel.

Secondly, saying it's impossible to catch a PCJ is just shameful. Police Bikes were purposely added to deal with PCJ's. Either you are just ignoring the fact the Police practically have their own PCJ's or you just didn't think about it. Either way, it's very much possible to chase PCJ's using the Police Bikes. You can of course use other tactics as well, such as intercepting the bike instead of following it.

In conclusion, the answer is no.

Klaus summed it up well.

Remember you've yet to chase me and/or nylez on a pcj on a daily basis so you don't even know how annoying it is yet xd

The answer is no, PD has more than enough answers against a pcj

Huntsman, I thought VCPD used secondary units for roadblocks, unless no Officer gives a single fuck about that anymore, in which case Nylez has a free pass  ;)

Use another vehicle as a roadblock unit, close off all routes:
E.G. there's a 4-way intersection ahead of the suspect, deploy spike strips across all the road and footpath surfaces and wait until he's cornered and spike strip the route he came from, then, HE'S DUN GOOFD.

It's not really an abuse as it's a feature that was actually added in the game with that very purpose.

Secondary units are useless nowadays anyway, especially because some Cadets and Officers get a little competitive over being a Primary Unit.

What some people don't understand is that the secondary units are actually just as important, if not MORE, than the Primary Unit.

In terms of this, no.

I'm definitely the last person to comment about this but.. officers on VC:MP are able to return after death correct? If that's so then that fact by itself gives an unfair advantage over criminals if you ask me. Not to be a dick here, Huntsman, but a Chief of police should seek for greater strategies to actually overcome criminals regardless.

The fact that I keep seeing topics to minimize criminal privileges in both VC:MP and SA:MP in general, if owning a PCJ is even considered to be one in this case, is actually irritating.

I'll now crawl back to my SA:MP cave, if you don't mind.

See, unlike in SA:MP, Criminals already have significant advantages in Vice City, so this is not as much of an issue here.
Besides, keep in mind SAPD is allowed to drive-by PCJ users. Bike vs. Bike or Car vs. Bike drive-by is forbidden by the server  rules in VC:MP, so VCPD is at a disadvantage.

-Bunch on nonsense-

You are going to lecture me about a protocol that I wrote myself? There has not been a single lamp-post or a wall in Vice City that has not fell victim to your utterly pathetic driving. You know what you're talking about just as much as I know about rocket science. So please, go back to annoying people in IV:MP, thanks.

Fair enough.
What about making an exception to the rule to allow VCPD to drive-by criminals that are on bikes?

Nope. The way it is now is perfectly fine and fair for both sides.

Criminals already have significant advantages in Vice City

I do have to agree with Klaus and Kessu here sadly, I've been in pursuit after a PCJ twice, once I was a heli unit and I lost the bike (generally because the guy had greater map knowledge than me) and once when I was on a police bike, I was able to keep up and update without an issue, and I am a terrible driver and terrible with locations on VC:MP.

I've had no issues dealing with PCJ's, Just keep chasing him/her with an HPV, he/she is bound to fall off the bike at some point, pop the tires, arrest/kill him. Or just intercept, intcepting a PCJ is easiest of them all. They either ram and fall or try to avoid the interceptor and end up ramming a pole or smthn, so yeah, I don't think we'll be needing any additional features for da VCPD. Or at least imo.

I try to avoid evading On pcj, because once you fall there's a chance someone cop approaching and arresting you.

wait, arrest? :troll: I mean that usual fight that takes place.

The bad guys need to get lucky every time. The good guys just need to get lucky once.

Well, being a good driver is already an advantage for the criminals, unlike the cops who do not know how to drive.
