If you are using Windows 8 or above, kill skype process before installing vcmp so directplay can be installed properly. Also make sure to run vcmp installer as an admin.

Probably, your path to VC might be incorrect.
Or is your game modded? Try reinstalling if you're not sure.

Goddamn, the same started happening to me.
Maybe it's the server version? My client ''can't find updates'' so that might be it

My problem is when I connect into any server, it gets stopped

I had this problem yesterday like I said, and I think I have found a solution
Turn on DEP for gtavc.exe, if you don't know what that is I'll explain in more depth

Oh, right, mine was another case, in my case SP didn't run aswell

Did you try to enable DEP for the multiplayer .exe? Try to give it a shot

Have you tried re-installing the multiplayer again? Are you sure that you have installed all the redist to play? Maybe, is your version 0.3?
