First and foremost, I would like to thank everyone who has voted for me, especially those who have voted for me in the two categories I have won. In order to show my appreciation to all of those who have enabled me to win these two awards, I will be awarding the 12 players who have voted for me for the Most Lawful Citizen award and the 7 players who have voted for me for the Most Serious Player award a special $1 respray at my Pay n' Spray at Vice Port!

Since I do not have a speech to erm ... use ..., I will briefly talk about the possible future of Argonath RPG VC:MP.


Let us begin with updates to the GUIs, or specifically the client scripts.

Update 3.1 saw us move from rel003 to rel004. The updated server gave us client scripts but it also deprecated server-side sprites, something we use and rely on for our menus. In order to ensure that the existing scripts do not break, the client scripts were used as a fallback for deprecated functions. This meant that we did not and were not able to take full advantage of the client scripts potential.

We plan to address this. Instead of sprites as the menu background, we will move to supported GUI elements offered by the VC:MP client. This means we can design and script better looking user interfaces and enhance several scripts that currently rely on GUIs. We will also optimise the client script in terms of performance and design by doing a full rewrite of any client related scripts.

Updated GUIs means updated business scripts too!

Business scripts have a huge potential. However, they are hampered by the primitive menu that we currently use. This is one of the reason why we want to update our GUIs!

The updates to the GUIs are aimed at giving more control to the business owner in terms of what they are selling. In addition, it also means we can tailor the scripts and menus to the business type more specifically instead of relying on the restrictive menu. Furthermore, customers will also be able to learn more about what is being sold and what they are buying.

The long awaited Mini-mission 2.0.

The first draft of mini-mission 2.0 was conceived on the 12th of September 2016. Over a year has passed since and we know that there are many players waiting for an update to the mini-mission script. The idea of mini-mission have matured over the year and the idea have developed into an ecosystem of ideas.

Mission scripts!

Yes, scripts with an 's'! The idea behind mini-mission 2.0 will live on with another name that is to be decided so do not fret about mini-mission disappearing. Here is a little sneak peak into how the mission idea has evolved.

Players have really come to love the current set of mini-missions (as buggy as they were/are). These missions have also grown and have the potential of being its own standalone script. We have therefore decided to keep these missions but rework them into their own scripts, thus meaning they no longer have to rely on a single framework to function on.

Some of you may have noticed that raw rare stones, or for the sake of simplicity, jewels, were added to the list of illegal items to possess in the constitution. Jewels will be added to the script as an item similar to that of seeds and explosives. In other words, items you can carry, add to a pack, store, give, etc. This new item will be an obtainable item through a revamped "Diamond Heist" standalone mission, and through "Washed Up" and "Pirate's Treasure" like standalone missions. These jewels can be sold for mad cash!

"Armoured Truck" will also get its own standalone script with a new revamped script that will shift the focus from criminals to cops.

Another new idea that will be added as part of the mission update are job missions! Jobs such as pizzaboy and garbage collector will get special missions that can be completed when available to earn extra cash! Legally too!

Last but not least the fate of mini-mission 2.0. While it is still being referred to as "mini-mission 2.0" within the development team, the idea of it have evolved pass the point of a mini-mission. These missions will now have a backstory instead of being just a bunch of random events. Teams must be created in order to partake in a mission, a new currency will be added together with a new blackmarket, and alluring rewards that can be traded for using the new currency are among the planned changes to the "mini-mission" script.


There are no exact release dates for any of these scripts and updates as of writing this post. While I would like to give an approximate time of completion, I too am not sure myself how long it would take to develop all of these. Heck, some of these ideas have yet to receive a first idea draft. These scripts are by no means a small update and thus will take a lot of time to plan, develop, script, and test. Regardless, we are committed to it!

Thank you to all that voted for me. It's an magnificent achievement to win all of these prestigious awards, and I am hugely proud to have won in so many different categories.

First, the A-team awards. Thank you for voting me the most friendly admin 2017. We have a lot of friendly admins in the team, as it is in our nature and part of the profession to act polite and friendly to everyone. To be singled out as the most friendly touches my heart deeply, and makes me truly aware how much this community cherishes having me around. Secondly, thank you for voting me the most proactive admin 2017. I've always loved the game and will continue to do so, and I put a lot of my time and effort into helping the server grow. To be voted above Kessu in this category is a nice surprise too!

It is always one of my goals to win a criminal award every year, but never have I dominated the category like I did this time around. To win the most dedicated criminal means a lot, and really without my clanmates around I never would have the dedication I have to play every day, so a big thanks to my NAR niggas, may we continue to succeed as we have been. Best criminal negotiator was a nice surprise, and to win so emphatically really tells a story. To win Best criminal shooter 2017, after winning the award prior in 2016, is an award I take with great pride. We have a lot of fantastic players in our community, especially on the criminal side, and to be ranked the best shooter two years running is an achievement that hasn't been done by many, only Denlow and possibly Marcell. To be part of that club is truly amazing, and I remain humble by believing I still am a long way off some of the greatest players I have seen play this game. Best criminal dealer is a great award for me, as it's been one of my main goals to increase the roleplay between criminals and black market dealings and establish myself as one of the top dealers. Worst smuggler award was a surprising one, but I view it as worst luck maybe with the amount of heliblades and teamkills that happened to me during smuggles haha.

Moving swiftly on, to win Best lawyer award is a first for me, and I've actually be roleplaying as a lawyer for a long time now. It feels good to see that I've managed to help a lot of people out in difficult situations and my interest in law continues to grow to this day.

Lastly, thank you to the great number of players who voted NAR as the best criminal group 2017. Winning this award, for the second time in a row now, is a great achievement for not only myself but all the members of NAR who work and play hard to achieve what we have achieved in so little time.
