Dear Players, Administrators, Managers, Leaders, Owners - Dear Friends,

I am aware that my post will most likely change nothing but I feel obliged to step in with a few words about what is going on. I joined VC:MP Argonath in December 2007, then switched into SA:MP in May 2008, so it's been a little bit over 10 years since Argonath turned up in my life. I used to be a troubled kid. Bullied, hated by many people around, feeling underestimated, with absolutely no confidence at all. I feel like many of us could start their "Argo-story" the same way. Many of us felt that way while joining this community.

Then everything changed. I made friends, my English had improved noticeably, I felt stronger and more confident. I went up the SAPD ladder, got into the Admin Team, got promoted, made even more friends and learnt a lot about other people and cultures. I spent here every single afternoon for over four years. I used to wait till weekend or any day off at school - to spend entire days on the server. Working on the SAPD policies, thinking about new organisations, new games, new things we could implement to the server. Creating something new and fun. I felt appreciation. Something not really common im my life at that particular time.

Why am I elaborating on that? To show you why I care. This community, this server - had an enormous impact on my life and I will never express my gratitude to those people who participated in it. There were tons of people here - who made me who I am today. They shaped me. My admin and sapd colleagues, my fellow player-mates, also those who never really got much in common with me personally, but I saw them around every day for a couple of months or years.

Now it should be clear why I'm hopping on the server from time to time. Even though due to my professional career I really have no time at all for playing games. I keep returning to spend as much time as I can, even if it's only an hour per year. I checked in this week and I was devastated with what is going on. Never more than 10 players, I heard of people arguing with one another, of what someone called a "warzone". And I cannot believe. This server, this community, went through so many troubles that it can't simply die out.

I am asking you to reconsider what are the true concepts of this community. Those who remember Aragorn, Gandalf, Legolas, Haldir, Sharphis, xcasio and all the other leaders. Do not forget what Argonath was about. I know that sometimes shit happens and people just want to leave. It's getting on their nerves and they want to take some rest. But remember that Argonath is something more than just a couple of people who annoy you.

Appreciate what it has given to you through the years.

Put your nerves aside and try to work on making it better. And do start with yourself... If even only 30% started with themselves and tried to make Argonath a better place - it would be a better place and many people would return.

Do not let it go. It does not deserve it.

I hope I'll see you around soon. Have a great day guys and thanks for reading :)

I .. just want the old Argonath even if I'm just a 2016 player  :(
How I did join? I was trying to Roleplay on Freeroam server, And a guy found me and told me how argonath is the best place to roleplay, Now I know how's it, and I'm always trying to come IG and do my best and find any way to Roleplay with any one, Even these days if we have just few players, but I still belive we'll rebuild it as it was before and do what we're here to do, to Roleplay  :cowboy:

Thanks Flameman, I often refer to you when I propose the concept of gaming as job assessment.
Perhaps people are aware that I always mentioned how playing on Argonath and being part of the community is a preparation for later in life. That means you will develop skills like leading or working in a team, treat to unforeseen circumstances, having to spend money isely and deal with incompetent co-workers and senile bosses. :gand:
And best of all nobody can hide their real person for a long time, as playing a role reveals more than the role itself.

It it time to look closely at what there is and what we can create we still have a lot of people who look in here, and we can get a lot more if we answer the challenge to move in the right direction.
For this all suggestions from anyone are welcome.

Do not roleplay a veteran on discord, be a veteran in game.

Such a well-established community can never die. It might open another server in the future and close the older ones, but as long as the most loyal captains stay, the ship may never sink.

I enjoyed reading every bit of that post.

Ever since I first started playing in 2011, I realized something very quickly. This server was not like any other I had ever played. It was unique and remains unique. And only for the best of reasons. I believe the history behind this server means that it can never die, because I know there are many still out there just like me...people who know how special this server is.

I've had my share of extended inactivity in the past. Every single time I return right here, where I belong.
As a current administrator, I put my own hand up..and hopefully other staff members and players will join me, when I say that the time for change is now...a fresh start. Lead by example.

This will always be our server.

Haha well FlameMan basically talks about supporting each other as a community. So I guess we are ok.

Well you can start by either getting in good terms with brands like NVIDIA, or streaming games. Both works.

I am from India, and gaming is growing fast here. I do not like full time 9-5 jobs anyway, I worked with Lenovo to promote their Legion gaming notebooks in Feb for a month then Dell contracted me for 6 months to promote the 7000 gaming laptops and Alienware, all through my contacts at NVIDIA.

How do they want me to promote? They pay me to go play video games at their flagship stores for 4 hours every weekend.(That's 12 hours / week, Fri-Sat-Sun) They feel it gives a boost to their portfolio that a "gamer" prefers their machine and people see it, thus it works as some kind of validation.

Same goes for streamers, here social media promotions by gaming brands is all about live streams by streamers now instead of the usual meme posts you see on International social media pages. Heck, we have streamers like LifeSmack who moved here from Europe and have streaming as a career.

I could PM this to you, ofcourse. But I believe posting this in public might help more people.

 On a serious note, I did get one other guy the same job already. We needed 4 in my city this time. Last time it was 15 nationwide. My store ended up selling most Legion series all over country, all I did was sit and play GTA and SAMP.  I even had their brand staff get into gaming. lol Will share some pics in members pics later.
