Disable copy-pasting to chat?

not sure if it's possible or hardcoded in VCMP, but..

if possible, disable or somehow restrict copy-pasting. It's annoying, and is often used to ruin roleplay or expose in character information, as demonstrated yesterday and witnessed by DaniGold.

We were doing a low profile raid that we wanted to keep secret, a player drives by, notice a /me, copies it and pastes it on the mainchat for all to see. Fortunately, no-one interrupted at that time, but there have been many instances where because of this, people would swarm the roleplay scene and ruin it.

What's in roleplay is meant to stay in roleplay. The fact that people often take RP to mainchat is fucking annoying.

Please elaborate and justify your answer.

In my opinion, I'd go for disabling the /me posts in chat if possible so dickwads don't just come and ruin roleplays, but it still allows people to send rule break proof.

Up to the admins online to decide if you are ruining the RP by posting it in main chat.

I mean might not be true but the only time i copy paste rp chat is if im in another RP and use it as evidence like i did yesterday

Copy-pasting is enabled by default through the client. It is as far as I'm aware of, not a toggleable setting on the server side. While it is possible to "disable" copy-pasting to an extent, it will still be very easy to by-pass it. Plus, it will only solve the issue of the copy-pasting and not the ruining RP part as there will still be other means of ruining such RP through the main chat without the need for copy-pasting.

As I said, up to admins online to determine if the intent is to ruin the roleplay of others, and if yes they can punish accordingly.

Scripts to prevent this will not be implemented.

Copy pasting is a handy ability. That's another part that some players might use it to spoil roleplay. But as Kessu said, we have admins to deal with it.
