It has happened. There were rumours which I didn't believe, but it happened.
Valve has released a new Linux Steam version that allows Windows games to be played in Linux, as long as they are on Steam.
People are actually playing GTA V and other Directx11 games using the new STeam client on Linux. Perhaps finally Linux is going to see better days.
