The Crime Guide.
The crime guide is a series of rules and obligation for anyone who is determined to be a crime family in IVMP

1 Basic knowledge

1.1 New Character.


What can count as new start for your character.
 
Your character has been killed by a cop, died in a RP, or was killed in a accident
 
A new start does not happen when:
 
Your character has been the victim of a DM/Carkill
You disconnect (end of session)
 
When you respawn:
 .
Your character does not remember where any of its vehicles outside the garage are
Your character does not remember any previous enemies (your killer/robber etc)
Your character cannot return to the location of death or be involved in the same situation that lead to his death for at least 10min or if RP has ended he can come back to the zone.
Your character does remember their friends & gang members.

Suggestion and not a must:
If a character is player killed and the scene is left after they respawn, the players involved should roleplay that the unconscious character is found by a good samaritan, emergency services were called, and they were taken to the hospital. The person that was player killed would then after they respawn at the hospital, roleplay in the hospital for a period of time for their injuries to heal and continue to roleplay those injuries accordingly.

1.2 General things.
 
You must remain in character at all times, unless you need to say something that can't be roleplayed.. Roleplay everything.
 
(Out of Character Chat (OOC) interactions must be made in direct chat must be prefaced by the syntax // ** or ()

Usually the /em that is used to describe the environment, gets a backup use for OOC chat with proper syntax // ** ()
If someone is roleplaying with your corpse or injured body, you must let them and answer their /me commands.

You are, however, allowed to roleplaying dying if you are just injured. But let the person who did it/is roleplaying with you finish what they're doing.
For crime life, extensive use of /dice for determining the main course of the event. Both sides [i.e. leaders of event cops/criminals] throw dice once to determine which side wins, if it's tied.. then "everybody is a winner”. Anyways, first dice determines the winning side, second /dice determines the amount/effect of it.. like, you throw 1 -> You barely won. You throw 6 you can do some big things to other side.



If you are roleplaying being dead, you are dead. Do not suddenly be alive if a friend comes around to save you. You may get revived by an EMS or someone who does CPR on you, though. (if you haven't been shot in the face - be reasonable)

Be Reasonable and Realistic.
If you feel like you have a character, or an ability or anything like that that seems ridiculous to you, chances are it probably is.
 
Every Action Has a Reaction
While it's easy to disregard things in an RP setting, it still remains that everything you do will have a consequence or effect on the world and characters around you.



1.3 Rules of engage

Communication is everything, once people initiate RP, OOC type the list of items (weapons) you character has on him self, use of any item that you didn't name is a FailRP

Fast draw or holstering of one handed weapons are allowed as they naturally have a faster draw time. Two handed weapons such as assault rifles, rifles, shotguns, etc. require a manually typed out /me to draw the weapon, unless it is easily accessible due to predetermined RP (gun racks, gun on lap, etc).

1.4 Fail RP

Fail roleplaying
This covers a spectrum of mistakes, and can be considered general. It is either not RPing, or RPing poorly. As an example, one cannot hit another player when out of range of that player. They first have to move in range of the other player to interact with them.
 
 No Godmoding

This is regarded as the ultimate low in RPing and is not only disrespectful, but is also unfair. Godmoding could entail either an RPer controlling other people's characters without permission, performing closed ended attacks or creating a character that is seemingly invincible.


MetaGaming
MetaGaming is when someone uses out of character (OOC) information for in character (IC) purposes.

PowerGaming
A player can be described as a PowerGamer if he or she presumes or declares that his or her own action against another player character is successful without giving the other player character the freedom to act on his or her own decisions. This includes but is not limited to:
Forcing actions upon a player.
Failing to allow a player to roleplay their own actions.
Use of items which you haven’t physically obtained.
Acting superhuman.


Disregard for Life
Someone showing disregard for their own life or unnecessary risk such as acting suicidally or generally not caring for their actions as carefully as they would in real life. Some more detailed examples of this would be:

Pulling a gun out on a police officer during a traffic stop when you are going to receive a traffic infraction, your character is then killed.
Reckless handling of a vehicle or aircraft and crashing it which would clearly result in death, especially at a very high rate of speed.
Police acting like they’re invincible, failing to follow proper safety protocol, acting out unrealistically in situations where they normally wouldn’t.
Refusing to RP/non-RP
All players are required to roleplay at all times and are expected to roleplay within the boundaries of the ruleset. This means players may not refuse to RP or behave in a non-RP manner under any circumstances. Failure to respond to /do's and /me's are taken as you refusing to roleplay.

To avoid non-RP behavior players are encouraged to RP similarly to how they would behave in real life.
A common example of non-RP behavior would be driving on the wrong side of the road for no justifiable In Character reason (fleeing the cops, for example, would be a good reason to do this, but doing this out of boredom is not!)

Another example of non-roleplay behavior/refusing to roleplay would be ignoring another player's /me and  commands deliberately in the same situation. Running away from a person who is arresting/mugging you while they're either attempting to/currently beating you up will be non-roleplay/refusing to roleplay. You must respond to /me and commands.


2 The Leaders

All of the groups who have signed this thread will accept to live by these rules here, and as such its leaders and cos, will be on the leader council that will keep all family's in check, the council will be neutral in all matters and will serve as observer and if needed as a judge, voting will be done with each family having one vote, the majority wins.

2.1 Relations in the crime life

Any group is allowed to start hostility's towards another group if they think they have good enough reason, this will not effect council duty's tho, council will need to know the reason for war.

2.2 Mutual assistance


In case of a need other members of the council can assist other groups with there problems, but they are not allowed, to assist in RP situations where they were not a part of when the situation was made, this excludes calling and planing the operation in advance.

2.3 Violation of crime life rules

Can have several punishments from, verbal warning to war, monetary actions, assassinations.
Only the council in absence of the party that broke the rules can allow such actions.
