There should have been some demonstration and a try to bring the community back to play before asking donations in my opinion. Right now I doubt people will really trust a new developer and give him money no matter what you say about him, unless he proves himself and manages to bring this on it's feet then maybe some people would go ahead and see about the donations because it would then look like it's worth spending money for.

Considering this entire system is made by SA:MP HQ (and them alone) it should not be using the entire community as it's name, but the SA:MP division specifically.

You shouldn't ask for donations for paid developers for Argonath RPG, when it is only one division of the community instead of the entire community, because believe it or not, Argonath RPG is not SA:MP.

This I agree with. In the Patreon it's not mentioned that it's only for the samp division.

I wanted to give him as much benefit of doubt as possible. I didn't work with him much as all in the past so I didn't know him as much as some others. I feel 3 months of zero activity says he is either no longer interested or too busy to be interested. When I say zero I mean zero. All he had to do was speak up and either tell us the situation and when he may be back via any method of communication, or at the very least, tell us he is not or will not be able to support us. The fact we haven't heard a peep out of him but have seen him appear on the forum every now and then is concerning us tho.

I did think i edited it the other night but it seems patreon's page edit function is a bit wonky. However i have edited it not to show we are promoting the SA:MP server.

May i remind everyone that this topic is for Talking about the donation system, We do not rely on the donations but the more money we can raise the more work we can get done, If we're paying out of pocket we won't last too long with a paid developer. And yes we did try to find a developer willing to work for free for months but nobody stepped forward, So we resulted in a paid developer.

He made the drug script after you left, so there's that? Called him powerhungry on a discussion in QA chat one time and Mikro and Dylan quit the team

And yes we are sorry that our previous plan to re-write the code did not come through as intended, The developer who was working on it dissapeared so there isn't much we could do.
Which will not happen with our new developer as he will be under contract to work for the server.

Announcing such a thing without having the funds to pay for the contract and without being able to guarantee that such person won't just skip ship once he has his cash is not the brightest of ideas, to be honest. He should have done something at first - to prove he is interested and motivate the players to donate. Another thing I would like to address is - where are these features coming from? The suggestion board? Half of the ideas are now obsolete and the people who suggested them are long gone. New features is not what's going to bring the community back(Chase, despite all my respect for you - that storage script thing...just no...)

This whole thing feels rushed and unplanned - last time I offered to make a donation I was told off and promised that  "Argonath will never have a donation system!". And I sincerely doubt anyone will donate for just another bunch of promises - we had enough of those.

I wish ya'll the best of luck with this but I really doubt it will lead somewhere donations were not asked when the server was at it's peak and when SAMP was alive.
regardless the SAMP division is simply unstable the platform it's self and specially how argonath's server been operating for a quite a while now and even if some one would have the will to donate I doubt he'll trust this cause.

As a member of RS5.1 and 5.2 QA Team i can tell you that most of the time he wasn't doing anything or at least he wasn't showing anything to us. The most active developers have always been Dylan, Mikro and Teddy.
The drug script, which should've been done by him, was rushed in the final weeks prior to the release and it was bugged like hell. We didn't have anything  new to test on Marcel's drug script for months and when we did, it was very late and only a few bugs were fixed, i'm sure that anyone who played back then remembers that after the official release of rs5.2 it was still broken and had to be disabled for some period.

I do not want to blame it all on Marcel but this is why i wouldn't believe someone like him and if people used rough manners to say it on the forums,  they have their reasons. If he had lost any will in scripting for samp he should've quit.

As i said previously, some explanations on what happened and how you guys are going to avoid this from happening again are necessary if you wanna continue with patreon.

So back in August you stated in the rs5 dev blog that there's something being worked on but can't be shown to the public as there's nothing to show, has there anything been done all these months to show people that you guys are actually taking this seriously?
Surely people aren't going to be donating money to buy freshly baked potatoes or just read more false promises, like the FiveM server, or the new gamemode even.
I mean, I really hope there's a little bit of material you can show publicly about the new gamemode atleast, it has been a couple of months...surely some progress have been made, yes?
Regardless of that, good luck with this. I really do hope these potatoes sell out so you can get going.
