Luko Hewitt was born on August 7, 1939 in a slaughterhouse. The employee, and therefore her true mother, dies giving birth to her. The owner of the slaughterhouse ends up throwing the child into one of the bins, particularly because of his malformation. The child is finally collected by Luda May Hewitt, who was searching the trash for food.

The child grows up in the Hewitt family with his malformation. In his youth, Luko mutilated himself and hid his marks with a scarf on his face. 30 years later, he was hired in the same slaughterhouse where he was born, but he was forced to close because of a health inspection. The boy refuses to leave, he ends up killing his boss and leaves the slaughterhouse with a chainsaw found in his office. This is his first murder. Meanwhile, the population begins to leave the city, the abattoir being the trade of the city until its closure. The Hewitt family decides to stay in this city that is dear to him. The sheriff of the city, Hoyt, learns the murder and decides to go see Luko. Charlie, Luko's uncle, kills the sheriff to defend his nephew, pretends to be the latter and decides to take him home with the firm decision to make his family cannibal. For him, this will enable them to fight against hunger. Thus, Charlie asks Luko to take care of killing the victims he brings back by saying that they are like the meat of the slaughterhouse, and it is from this moment that Thomas kills his victims with a chainsaw. The first casualties of the family are four young people named Dean, Eric, Bailey and Chrissie, brought back by Charlie posing as sheriff. It is from this moment that Thomas removes his scarf to put instead the skin of the face of one of its victims.

However, the Hewitt family business ends up being disrupted with the arrival of five young people, victims of Luko' deadly attacks. Indeed, one of the group, Erin Hardesty, managed to escape from Luko, thus succeeding in preventing the policeNote 2. It is from this moment that the population learns the macabre actions of the Hewitt family and they flee. Later, we learn in a series of comics that they did like their original counterparts and that they took refuge in a series of tunnels and that they continue their macabre exploits. In scenes cut, we see that the police think to have shot Luko but Erin Hardesty tells that it is impossible since the man shot had two arms while the one she had when he met the psychopath cut off the arm of this last to escape.
